We had a hard time finding a restaurant open at all and we were starving. When we finally stumbled on this little place we were well rewarded. couldn't have been nicer. Had it not been for the television blasting next to us, I would have said that the ambiance was perfect, but the restaurant was not trying to attract me, but other Mexicans. But still we loved it. I'm a vegetarian and the Huitlacoche crepes were so delicious and the cheesy tasting sauce was so light and tasty, I wanted to lick my plate (I'm sure that is not in good taste, so I avoided it). My husband ordered the pollo poblano and said it was wonderful. I sneaked a taste and admit it was tasty. We returned for breakfast the following morning and found it equally as good. Actually the best breakfast I had the entire time. I ordered an omlet with Huichacotely and he ordered somthing with a lot of meat in it. We were both super happy. This restaurat is a great place to get local foods of Tlaxcala.

A bit difficult to get there, because the restaurant is on the highway outside the city of Tlaxcala. However, once there, it is a nice and quiet setting, and the food is good, with dishes from the regional cuisine, such as mixiote, which is nicely served in a crock pot and tastes deliciously.
Leña y Olivo offers a new proposal of food and drinks in the state of Tlaxcala, our cuts and gourmet cuisine are the anchor of the restaurant, having as main essence the oven and grill.
While visiting family in Tlaxcala we visited Lena & Olivo for breakfast. We were greeted by a friendly staff. Service was outstanding and the Chilaquiles were outstanding. Great variety of coffees, from americano, lattes and cappuccino to french press. On our next trip to Tlaxcala we are definitely coming back to try dinner.

View from the terrace is panoramic especially when a parade is on. The food is just excellent, particularly the pulque. Armando the owner speaks English and is a wealth of information about the food, surroundings and pulque. He runs a tour outfit too. His wife runs informative workshops on traditional herbs and medicines at the venue. This place is slow-food certified. Family-owned and run, very friendly.

It is besides the bull-fights arena, so a lot of people eat here before going to the bull-fights. The restaurant is attended by the owners so they are checking everything. Good food, abundant dishes.

Inspirational Mexican cousine. Flavors that awaken your memories
This place is away from any hustle and bustle. Nestled on the banks of a river, this site belonged formerly to a textile factory that was dedicated to dyeing fabrics. They have recently opened it to the public, making it a restaurant and providing an intimate and very romantic atmosphere.Me and a group of friends went to this place to celebrate Valentine's day and we were not disappointed.Pros:They have gourmet dishes, a fusion of ingredients between traditional and modern. The food is fresh and has great seasoning.Service is friendly and attentive. They have outdoor heaters for an evening on the terrace. The place and the view of the river provide an intimate and romantic atmosphere.Cons:Although the waiters are friendly, the food takes a while. They need a bit more outside heaters, because on a busy night in autumn and winter, it seems they are going to run out of them.It is a bit tricky to get to the place, it isn't very well signposted on the road and the GPS loses signal in certain areas.Suggestions:Jamaica (hibiscus) tacos are delicious! There is a beef stew (which I can't remember the name) and the meat melts in your mouth!Thank you very much for your kind opinion. "Molino de los Reyes" is a beautiful place, full of history and magic. We are proud to have it. The building was a mill in the XVIII century, was named "Mill of the Defense". During the Mexican Revolution, the mill was abandoned, and serve as strategic hiding quarters for those men that fought for the social rights of the all.For some years now we have worked in order to share with new generations this magical place surrounded by this incredible natural beauty in the state of Tlaxcala. We would love to see you soon.

We had read that the restaurant had rabbit on the menu, which we like and thought it would make a nice change. We ordered one with huitlacoche and one la Fonda special mole. Both were delicious and the portions generous. Service was efficient and it was very good value. Would definitely recommend .

I first heard about his in a Mariel de Viaje Facebook post, and figured I'd give it a try while in town. Well, the location is perfect, right on a heavily trafficked square - so people watching alone will keep you satisfied. I had a mixote de canero (ram cooked in maguey membrane), though I don't think that it was a real maguey membrane, which is probably a good thing since when they (often poachers) remove a membrane from a maquey from a plant, they kill the plant, making life hard on pulque producers.Anyway, it was good whatever it was actually wrapped in, and then I had a couple types of pulque. The service was good, and sitting outside was a treat. I would probably go there often if I lived in Tlaxcala (which is an attractive enough place to do just that).Le agradecemos su visita; su comentario nos motiva y nos llena de orgullo.
