I had the pleasure of having lunch here with a client who eats here frequently. I left ordering up to him and everything was incredible. The service was good and they went the extra mile to provide as good of service to their guests as possible. The cheesecake was really good!

Super atmosphere, great decor and excellent service. We sat in the back portion of the restaurant, near the bar. Wonderful crab, amazing steamed fish and delicious, perfectly cooked beef. The food was faultless. We were having such a good time we stayed to listen to the house band, who were brilliant. Let the good times roll...

My wife and I visited El Itacate this past week in March 2015. It was a Sunday evening around 8pm and restaurant was crowded! Jam packed and filled with families of all ages. The place is a nice decent size place with booths and tables. There is a bakery side and the restaurant side. The food and service was perfect. I had the entomatadas with Chicken. They were fantastic! They were made just the way my mom use to make them. My wife ordered the gorditas. All our food was cooked to perfection. For a desert, my wife and I ordered coffee and split a concha. The sweet roll was soft, fresh, and tasty. We had a very pleasant experience!!!! I would come here again!!!!

This is one of the best seafood restaurants I have been to anywhere. The crab, or "jaiba" was outstanding, as was the crab with cheese tortillas, a truly fantastic dish. Just thinking anout it makes me smile. We also enjoyed some wonderful whole fish which tasted fantastic. The person who took us here is a regular and had a great rapport with the staff. Service was excellent. We were in the middle dining room which has a wonderful collection of die-cast model vintage cars in cabinets covering the walls. Super atmosphere, amazing food... if I ever get the opportunity to go back to this brilliant establishment I will not hesitate.

Clean restaurant with delicious food. You can find the most authentic Mexican food with a reasonable price. The décor of the restaurant is unique, friendly, and you feel like you're in an hacienda. Not to mention that the staff is super friendly. My grandma can't take the stairs and she needed to go to the bathroom which is on the 2nd floor and the staff let her use the private bathroom in the 1st floor.

Great service, great food and great price. We were able to have dinner here twice on our trip. There may be a third trip before we leave. Try the grilled octopus, they grill it fresh for each dish.

if you happen to visit Tampico and want a good steak, head for Parrilla Puerta 27 in Plaza Herradura... you will also have access to the Basilico menu which happens to be next door... not only a solid option for steaks, fish lovers will feel at home as well...
