We expected a good meal after reading the reviews for âEl Jacalâ but you can hardly call this typical Tex Mex when several choices include French fries. Booth seats were ripped up and the bathroom hadnât been cleaned for quite sometime. Meal was average but we wonât be back again, not impressed!

This little gem is nothing special as far as decor but the food is good and the "salsa bar" was a nice treat. I've never seen that before. We tried three different salsas. Warm tortillas and salsa were complimentary and served promptly by a pleasant waitress that offered suggestions on favourite dishes. We enjoyed our two choices- Carnitas and Mexican fries. Carnitas here is not shredded -but cubed. I prefer mine shredded. The Mexican fries were better than poutine. The atmosphere was a little strange. Music was playing fairly loud at the same time as the two T.V's on just as loud. It was hard to hear either one as they were interfering with one another. The prices are reasonable and the portions are large. I wish I had room for dessert but I was just too full. And that's a good thing!

A great place to eat, in Sweetwater! Fresh and flavorful chips and salsa, they are known for their wings! I tried them and they were vey good and large! The mixed fajitas nachos were great too, also the supreme nachos was a great meal as well! A great place and outside seating available... I recommend trying, and it's an all around casual; yet good place, clean with great service!!!
