We went on the advice of a freind. We had tacos: small street tacos was what they make here. The shredded beef was chewy, fish was not edible, the chicken was good, one out of three is a strike out for us. There was no chips with our order and we ordered a meal. What Mexican restaurant does not give you chips & salsa? We were disappointed, and will not be back. Weâll stick with the other good ones in town.

Dos Reales is now called "Dos Reales Mexican Restaurant & Steak House.". We returned for a special celebration to recognize and honor the marvelous Certified Nursing Assistants at the Crest View Adult Family Home on Camano Island.Dos Reales serves a fabulous Prime Rib dinner on Fridays, Saturdays and special occasions like Valentine's Day. Our gathering was the day after Valentines's Day, but we asked host Pedro and Chef David if we could have the same meal for our CNA honorees - it was the PR plus Lobster Tail!. Of course, there were dishes of Guacamole and Pedro's celebrated Margaritas. We were 11 at table. The service was perfect and all dishes arrived on schedule. One exceptional option was the Lobster Bisque - well worth the selection. Chef David prepared the Prime Rib to a tasty and juicy perfection. We will return again in the near future

After reading the other reviews, I see that this Ixtapa is not part of the other Ixtapas (like in Monroe). That explains the service and the bad food. The other Ixtapas arenât exactly the best, but are pretty good for this type of Mexican food that is so prevalent in the PNW.But the food we got last night at the Stanwood Ixtapa was just flat out bad. There were 5 of us, and no one would have called their meal good. Everything was salty, lacking flavor, and not exciting. To top it off, my margarita ( which was supposed to be made with real lime juice) was too sweet, and probably had no lime juice in it at all. Service was not good from the hostess- unfriendly. Our server was perfunctory at best.We wonât be back.

This group arranged in advance to be there----located in the Stanwood East Hill shopping area next to the Cinnema, there are two ways to enter---parking loton west side--no disability spots near that entrance---or through the Cinema entrance into the open plaza-like area. The one area is a sports bar, with adjoining tables and booths separate from the bar area....the Plaza dining area is outside the premises but under the plaza roof across from the Cinema ticket office. There were at least six waiters for this group and also serving patrons. It is Friday night....families, couples also present.....Ice water immediately along with chips, and two dips.....they kept the chips coming.....I ordered a combo with an enchilada, taco, and tamale, served with light lettuce, refritos, and spanish rice....Service was accurate, served hot, and I did not have to wait long.....The meal was nicely plated on a large colorful warm plate....Qualitywas good...commonly found to be bland...the taco had got wet and fell apart before I could pick it up---The tamale had picadillo chicken inside---the enchilada was notserved rolled but sort of flat but tasty---The salsa was tasty but bland---No one was asked if they wanted drinks of any kind....service was attentive---Folks who know what Mexican food is supposed to be like would say that this isa commercial version of what is supposed to be truly Mexican...bland says it all.I rated this as very good because of the excellent service, proper presentation as ordered, and timeliness of preparation and conservatively priced.

The food is good and usually the service is normal for a drive through. However if you are going through the drive through check your order before you leave. 8 times out of 10 something is forgotten or wrong. They will fix it but a pain.
