One of the best burritos I have had in a very long time! The "regular" burrito with carnitas was packed with delicious pork and not at all greasy. There was so much meat that there was little room for anything else! The flour tortilla also tasted like hand made. Our party of four were all very impressed with the quality of the food (everyone had something different) and the friendliness of the staff. We even enjoyed the cook singing as he worked. Taquiria Los Gallos is a very modest restaurant but one we would not hesitate to return to - - our meals were outstanding! (Note: the restaurant of this name that we visited was in a shopping center in the 2500 block of Scotts Valley Road)

This is a small place in a strip mall. The counter staff was friendly and patient as we tried to figure out our orders. We ordered a taco salad, quesadilla, fish taco, chicken fajitas for the restaurant, and one of the specialty burritos to take back to the hotel with us. The food came quickly and was hot. This was one time where I wish I had ordered something simple because I really didn't care for the fajitas- they were okay but not great. The other dishes we ordered were all much better. We loved the salsa bar and enjoyed tortillas and salsa while we waited for our meals. We'd definitely return if ever back in the area.
Where to eat Bar food in Scotts Valley: The Best Restaurants and Bars
Traveling and stayed at Hilton just down the road. Easy to walk to this restaurant. Not fancy - casual diner like. Walk in & order at counter then food delivered to your table. The staff was super friendly and service oriented. I had shrimp fajitas - the shrimp had no flavor but added with the peppers and some salsa from the salsa bar - turned out ok.

Great portions, relaxed atmosphere, great house margarita, I enjoyed a virgin strawberry margarita, the men in the family like the super burritos. I have enjoyed the sizzling fajitas many times, but it is a large meal and not as good as before. Staff is friendly and helpful.

How can you go wrong with Taco Bell? It's like comfort food! This particular one is in the very safe town of Scotts Valley, right on the main drag (Mt. Hermon Road). Stop here for a quick snack on your way to Roaring Camp Railroads or Henry Cowell State Park. The bathrooms are clean, as is the whole restaurant. You won't get snotty service & I've never, ever gotten sick from eating at Taco Bell. Staple food to me!
