The best Mexican restaurant in Colombia, Entre Cuates is the old Chavela Taqueria & Bar and we have made some improvements in the menus for you. Come and try the best food and the best ambience in this beautiful city!
On the corner of Parque de los Novios, this restaurant offers the standard dishesâand musicâof Mexico. We had the carnitas tacos and enchiladas verdes, the former was decent, the latter was layered in salsa and cheese, but a bit bland. I used the jalapeño salsa liberally. We arrived just after they opened for lunch when it was empty, but this is supposed to draw a bigger crowd after 5:30 for dinner. The book of a menu has pictures for non-Spanish speaking tourists.

Tronco Burrito is a "make your own" burrito/taco/nacho with a configuration similar to chains such as Chipotle and Qdoba in the United States. They do serve beer as well as soft drinks (several cold coca colas go best with the burrito). You elect whether you're going to have a burrito/taco/nacho and then, get to choose the fillings/toppings you'd like. What sets this establishment apart (and well above) the others is the use of al pastor chicken. Deliciously flavored, not too mild not too spicy, and juicy as can be. I got the burrito with the al pastor chicken, black beans, cilantro rice, veggies, lettuce, cheese+sour cream, salsas and their nacho cheese (+costs extra but nothing good in life is free). Again they stand out because of their salsa, which do not hold back in flavor or heat (they have 3 levels: mild/medium/hot) and are a blended salsa for smooth consistency. I got the spiciest and loved it, as it was not overwhelming but accentuated the flavors within the burrito as well as added heat. As a lover of all things nacho cheese i took the risk and got their jalapeno cheddar cheese sauce (comes in a squirt bottle), and was not dissappointed at all, great cheesey flavor, mild spice, and combined with the sour cream: creates a dynamic of cool and creamy versus the hot and spicy that comes with the al pastor+ hot sauce. My mouth is actually watering as I recount this and my greatest disappointment was finding out that Santa Marta is one of the only locations (their cartagena location closed). If this establishment was in the states, or elsewhere in Colombia I would have eaten here many, many, more times.

We were looking to get a quick bite to eat and were lucky enough to stumble into an amazing restaurant that was very reasonably priced. I ordered the trout and it was one of the top 3 trout dishes I have ever had. You must try this place!!!
