Very casual Mexican restaurant in downtown San Mateo. Although there were no signs, I stood in line at the counter and placed my order..shuffled down and paid for order then waited for my order. Wait time was 13 minutes at 11:30 in the morning on a Friday. It appeared that preference was give to large to-go orders. My chicken/avocado Caesar salad had lots of chicken, very little avocado and tons of sliced peppers. Man, it was spicy - so spicy I could not finish it. Price for the salad without tip was $12.

Coming from a Hispanic family in the San Joaquin Valley{ Food capitol of the world} The food was the most flavorful Mexican food i have experienced anywhere. My wives family has been eating here for multiple generations and now my taste buds know why.The plates were more like platters and filled from edge to edge with great tasting Mexican food. The prices were a little higher than we normally pay but i told my wife we will visit here every trip we make to the bay area.

Inside the Brligame Golf Center
We were told about Gabriel and Danielâs Mexican Grill by an employee of a nearby hotel. We were able to walk from our hotel, which was preferred by everyone in our party. We paused as we approached because we were heading into a driving range building. We chose to continue on and were glad we did! The grill is in fact inside the driving range building. Donât let the surroundings fool you, the food is fantastic. The service was great! Our overall experience will bring us back! The presentation of the food can only be described as art. I did not want to start eating and destroy the artwork in front of me. Once I dug in, I was glad I did! The flavors in my mouth were like round two of the art presented as a meal. If you are near the SFO airport and looking for something to eat, go to Gabriel and Danielâs Mexican Grill, you will not regret it!

Went for early cinco de mayo dinner and margaritas. Full bar and beer/wine. Great service, despite the crazy business of the evening. Has grilled fish filet with green sauce and cheese, with rice and veggies and tortillas. Husband had Mariscada Piaxtla, which is prawns cooked many different ways, even bacon wrapped, grilled fish, ceviche, salad and rice. Huge servings. Really amazing flavors. Great menu with anything one desires and veg options as well as kids menu and dessert. Great find. We will be back over and over again.

Owner greeted us, had a wonderful sense of humor. She advised us on menu selections based on how hungry we were. She also brought out free birthday desserts since two of us were celebrating birthdays. Beef in beef fajitas were great. Veggies too. Ample portions. Salsa & chips were wonderful. Our group went through two bowls. Nice atmosphere with fireplace, stained glass windows. Free parking in back lot if you do not want to park on El Camino Real.
