At Taco John's®, we serve traditional Mexican food-with a twist. By fusing bold American flavors with south-of-the-border spice, we've defined our signature menu. From our trademark Potato Olés® and freshly prepared tacos to our infamous breakfast burrito
I have been going to Taco John's for many years and their tacos are the very best for fast food. Try the Potatoe Ole's dipped in the nacho cheese or the house dressing.

I have been going to Barbosa's since it was a five-table restaurant inside a duplex where recipes were being created. It is no longer owned by a Barbosa family member, but the new owner seems to have made it better. It is a different type of Mexican restaurant. Not TexMex and not normal Mexican as most know it. However, many of the items are delicious. The upscale margarita is WOW. My one complaint--they charge for chips and salsa. However, these are beyond what most serve. Fried flour chips with a choice of several dips.

I just don't get it, Missouri people are totally getting ripped off from good Mexican food. This red sauce they pour over everything is not really good... depressing actually. What ever happened to a nice reduced meat sauce with flour base? .... and make it spicy. Quite disappointed. I guess I need to stay away from the enchiladas and go for the speciality plates.... scary if they can't get the enchiladas correcto. Although, the charro beans were good. They could have been warmer. Rice was quite dry.... At your risk.... have at it.

I planned to have some nachos navidad for the Christmas season tonight. there were two ladies working behind the counter and both of them ignored me for over a minute and wouldn't greet me or take my order. I almost left when another worker arrived and she was gracious and took my order. I think I got cheated on the nacho chips because they were all broken up into tiny pieces under a few full size ones on top. I would avoid this place till management straightens them out.

Very good, friendly, and helpful service at this location. The staff always remember to offer all the toppings, they do a great job cooking the meats, and everything has been very fresh every time we've been there. The only thing with some inconsistency is the chips and guacamole-- but that's true of most chipotle locations from what i've noticed. So glad to have this chain in St. Joe! One more thing-- it's great to be able to buy a beer at a fast food place!

There are so many good things to say, everything is good, salads very big and very good, Mexican food is top of the line though quite Americanized. Specials always tremendous. For the price of fast food, you can eat well (plus tip). A lunch-time staple.

Seriously good eats, people. They have pupusas and they are wonderful. The curtido (cabbage slaw) with lots of Mexican oregano was the perfect companion to the pupusa. I will be back just for these. The sopes was decent as well. Hubby liked the chili relleno and tacos. We have a place with decent pupusas in St. Joe!! I'm so excited.
Yes, it's next to a gas station. Yes, there are only 4-5 tables, and yes, the interior could be cleaner and nicer. But, if you can get past those things and just try the food...it's soooo good. Homemade tortillas are delicious. Every time I eat here, I just can't believe how tasty it is. My favorite are the chicken tacos with just cilantro and cheese, then I add lime and the green sauce. The rice is the best Mexican rice I've ever had. Just give it a try.

Back In The Day ... (sigh) ... Barbosa's was pretty good ... time passes ... standards lessen ... complacency develops and this is what one ends up with. The (costly) were cold and greasy. The server was disinterested and remote. The dish advertised as "Chicken Fajita Salad" had - at most - .25 ounces of cold, clammy, chicken chunks in it and - despite my having specifically said that yes, I DID want the grilled vegetables in the salad, what I got was a little bowl of iceberg lettuce, the cold, clammy chicken bits, three of four small slices of well-aged onions, a handful of shredded cheese, and some more cold, greasy chips. No water refills ... check dropped off and waitress disappeared ... and - as to future visits - so will we.

While staying in St Joseph's for one week for a family reunion get together, one evening about ten of our group of 14 had a meal at El Maguey. Our waitperson was very good about getting our orders correct and was very prompt in doing drink refills. I did not have a meal but ordered a small bowl of guacamole and also a small cheese dip. Both were to my liking and the chips served with both items were fresh and served warm. Good food, good service and reasonable prices.
