We were on more or less of a pub crawl and just went over to hear the live music. It was OK but not spectacular. It was pretty warm out so drinking beer was just a little unappetizing. We had already eaten so we did not try the food. Their servers are really nice though and it was a fun place to visit.

We were passing thru when we found this restaurant for our lunch. I ordered a dish with beef, chicken and shrimp with Spanish rice. This dish was delicious and very tasty. The interior was very colorful but the seats were very convenient. The staff was correct but a smile would be very nice. Great value for money.

We visited here on our way to a trip to Blandford Cemetery in Petersburg. We started off with the queso cheese dip which was fairly good. The chips and salsa were fresh and good quality. My wife ordered the fiesta burrito which she enjoyed. My daughter ordered the steak fajitas. The cut of steak was good, but the steak had absolutely no flavor. It was disappointing to the point that she did not even eat it all or wish to take it home. My order consisted of the steak quesadilla. The cheese on the quesadilla tasted like it was American cheese and conflicted with the rest of the ingredients. The rice was very bland and disappointing. While we have only visited this once, with the numerous Mexican restaurants in the area, I do not see a reason to return.

We visited during their âsoft opening.â Nice mex restaurant with good quantities and fair prices. Wifey for a chicken burrito and I got chicken enchiladas. Good quality and we had plenty to take home. Got the taqueritas (?) as an appetizer- yummy. Prompt service even though theyâre still working out the kinks. Try it!

Well worth the visit! - they handled our large party of 16 with ease. Fresh food w/ fresh ingredients, and fantastic flavors. This place is right off I-295, close to Ft. Lee and Petersburg and close to hotel lodgings. Nothing from a can and all fresh, not one of our party of 16 left disappointed, all left full and well sated. wide variety of beers and drinks for adults as well as children and non-drinkers. Friendly professional and knowledgeable and accommodating staff. Well worth stopping by !

This unassuming restaurant is situated on a common rest stop for weary travelers coming off of I 95. We were greeted in a friendly way and got a table right off. It was quite loud in the dining room and the decor is a bit loud too but as an omage to South of the Border culture. Service was prompt and as we waited for our meal, we had some complimentary corn chips and a pretty good salsa. Food arrived hot with more than adequate portions. They have a nice selection of beer and other cocktails as well as soft drinks.Prices are reasonable. So, next time you are driving through this part of the world, El Arriero is a good place to stop.
