Really great Mexican food. The service was excellent. We really enjoyed our over flowing margaritas - thanks for the extra shot! Our meals were served quickly and hot. I ordered a steak plate with delicious refried beans and other sides. Next time I'll try the seafood.

When we think Chevys Fresh Mex, we go to our happy place; fun-lovinâ guests, fajitas & margaritas, and the freshest food, always from scratch. Founded in 1986 in Alameda, California, Chevys is an ultra-casual restaurant concept that offers guests an array
We were not very hungry so 3 of us shared a mixed appetizer plate. Good decision as we didn't overeat. The house Margaritas were better that a lot of other Mexican food places, and I had 2. Pleased that you could actually taste that they put some tequila in them, they were not watered down drinks at all.

This is one of the best Mexican Restaurants in the area. We love their salsa! I usually have the combination of a taco and enchilada, and I have never had a bad meal. I have had their chili verde and it too was very good. The staff is very attentive and very pleasant. This Don Jose restaurant is our "go to" Mexican Restaurant.

I am sorry that we had never discovered this restaurant before now!!! We have lived in Chino for almost 40 years and had never eaten here before. The food is VERY GOOD!!! LOVED LOVED LOVED the tamales, the Margaritas, the light piano music and singer. It was a JOY with our Lovely Waitress Lupita! We have already been back several times and will continue to enjoy the ambiance and food at Los Portales! Our children knew all about it!

I was not feeling good about my drive thru the industrial parks to get to my first visit at TROPICAL MEXICO restaurant. Passing the Sunset Motel, passing the Backdoor bar, passing sprawling factories seeded with small neighborhoods with modest homes the well water would be questioned.I had convinced myself I would turn around in the parking lot as soon as I arrived and head back to La Pamona in La Verne that I knew was excellent. TROPICAL MEXICO appears marooned in the midst of a mid-level industrial park limbo. BUT IT IS ACTUALLY A SEAFOOD OASIS. The parking lot out back seems connected with other businesses. It is not. This is abundant restaurant parking. This is a big restaurant inside. The bar is not fancy, or even welcoming, but functional and a ringside seat for GREAT FOOD.You will most likely be scoped out by the mustachioed owner who's indifference - means you are of good character.6 or 7 Mexican beers on tap. Generous "free pour" cocktials. Most hospitable.Smiling attentive service. All sorts describes the patrons most of whom speak Mexican. The menu is extensive and pays homage to the nation's seafood.I KNOW the Coctels are going to be excellent, Shrimp- Oyster - Conch, or Octopus or a MIX of all.I see a variation of the COCTELS that I had not heard of before. Some are a Mexican Seviche by a different name. I order the combo seafood platter - small . But I cannot remember the name or what the dish is called - SORRY ?? Please see the photo. By this dish alone - smothered in raw jalapenos - I have unexpectedly experienced one of those RARE nights where you find a pearl in the industrial park. And it is delicious. But start with any of the Coctel if this be your first visit. And if you don't know, now you know N

Great chips and salsa, taquitos, wet burritos, and excellent service. My new favorite local Mexican restaurant, right next door to the San Antonio winery. Good parking available and only a few feet away from the Milliken exit off the 60 freeway. Well worth it!

I like the decor in the restaurant and staff is friendly. However, the food it self is so-so. We ordered a Midori Melon Margarita, chili rellano combo meal, appetizer chicken flautas and had complimentary tortilla chips.Salsa is average. I feel like I get more flavor from an El Pollo Meal than this place. Probably would not return,

Buffet was dry and old. Staff not too friendly. I bragged about this place because it was good the first two times I visited. I usually get the breakfast/lunch buffet. Took me friends around noon on a Tuesday and the food looked and tasted like they were leftovers from the weekends.

Parking is good. Reception very good. Property is very clean. Menu varied. Service very good. Food was fresh and flavorful. Every item. From the chips and salsa, the black beans, carnitas, even the rice was excellent. If there is a negative it would be the noise level. Good value
