Very authentic Mexican food. I sat at the bar and started with a chilada , great beer selection.Took the recommendation for the bartender about his favorite enchiladas ( shrimp and chicken with white and red sauce) and this did certainly did not disappoint! Canât wait to retro try some other dishes!!

This comfortable new Mexican restaurant has great service, good food and a reasonably-priced menu. The owner is nice and very interested in his customers. The menu has lots of choices - we tried the enchiladas, tamales and chile renellos - good without being too spicy. Even people who aren't big fans of Mexican food can enjoy these menu choices. We understand that on some evenings free Margaritas are offered with meals! A very pleasant place.

I hadn't been to Mad Mex in years (I was an Oakland devotee years ago) but recently received a gift card and had the opportunity to do lunch at Mad Mex Monroeville. The burritos remain huge (I saved half for next day's lunch) and the guacamole was pretty good. They have lots of beers on tap and many happy hour specials so I plan to come back with friends in the future. FYI if you sign in to their site you get a free burrito on your birthday. Worth it.

Ate here in a large group while on a business trip - the restaurant was able to make a reservation and accommodate a very large group of 15+ people. Plenty of delicious crispy tortilla chips with individual bowls for your salsa (so you can double dip!). Service was excellent - especially for a large group, and they even managed to give us separate checks. Menu has steak, chicken, seafood/fish, and vegetarian options for Mexican food. Everything our group had was delicious - no complaints about the food from anyone. Portion sizes were more than adequate - we would have taken "doggy bags" with us except we were staying in a nearby hotel without refrigerators. Would definitely come here again if I am in the area.

My husband and I came for dinner, despite not being thrilled with our previous 2 visits. Our food was obviously cooked, frozen, thawed , and re-heated in microwave. I barely ate it. Chips and salsa were good, as was friendly service, but unfortunately, wont return. We will add this to the awful mad-mex restaurant. So disappointed!!! We used to love this place!!! Is taco bell taking over???
