Visited Maquoketa for the caves and needed dinner. The downtown is small with 3 restaurant choices. We picked mexican and we picked correctly. The food was satisfying and the portions are huge.

Obie's West

Seven members of our family decided to stop in for dinner. Sat night and almost vacant. Should have known there was a problem. The servers were pleasant enough. With each person getting something different, the odds were that most be good. Wrong! Very disappointed. How do you screw up a BLT? Or make an enchilada unidentifiable? A bit pricey for the area. Just a disappointment.

I usually just drive through and grab tacos but today I decided to go in and sit down for lunch. I had the Potatoes Ole Grande, not sure if that's the right name, but they were very good. The young lady that took my order was very pleasant and friendly. I received my lunch very quickly. There are nice booths to sit and enjoy you lunch. All in all, I just might stop more often instead of just driving through.
