This small restaurant under an open-air palapa is on the same property as Palma Real Hotel. I've been eating there for many years and it is consistently excellent (I own a vacation home nearby).
Our favorite time to head to the La Boquita Beach and it's Ramadas is Sunday afternoon. The beaches can get crowded with all the families, but that is the fun of it. Lots to do.....swimming, horseback riding, Banana rides, paddle boarding, etc.El Rey is our favorite restaurant......the food is wonderful and the beer is cold. The Margaritas are also great! We love the red snapper and also the BBQ oysters. A great place for the whole family!
we saw this restaurant the previous day and wanted to experience the famous Lechero coffee served from the waiter who has a hot large kettle of milk that is poured into the dark concentration of coffee.tasted pollo mole in tortillas while you can have large sopas too.Nice relaxed atmosphere and not at all experience. eat for under 100 mex pesos.Accessibility tooRecommendedGood day Dear Pbleicester, We are delighted to know that your experience at the restaurant Taste Veracruz managed to be pleasurable. Locals regard Taqueria Don Julio as the best eatery in town, and they've got good reason. This open-air restaurant serves up some of the tastiest tacos we've ever eaten, fast and hot from a comal where the cooks work non-stop. There isn't a bad choice on the menu, but those with adventurous palettes should go straight to the camaron chipotludo, savory spicy shrimp served on a bed of tender nopales (cactus leaves). Every order comes with a table-sized arsenal of condiments, spices and hot sauce. This is the kind of place you could eat every day and never grow bored. You certainly won't go away hungry.

Nice corner location in Centro with views to the waterfront park, the bay, with good people watching. Menus provided in English but none spoken. Started with stiff margaritas ($72 P each). Ordered two Chicken Salads ( Ensalada de Vedura) and a Torta de Milanesa (Chicken Sandwich). Good sizes and tasty. The restaurant offers free Wi-Fi with Apple device compatibility to add additional devices off the same password. Service good, washroom OK with wash basin outside.

Came here around 7pm or so and the place was pretty much empty. We found it interesting that the "busy" times were listed as late night. So... La Sonrisa is the late night, drunk food go-to in Manzanillo, then?We ordered some tacos and the helpful ladies distinguished the various types of meat and how they came cut (sliced, shredded, ground, chunks) to us. After we ordered, all the condiments came out and there were tons. The individual bowls of condiments looked decent but the large salsa caddy looked like it'd seen better days. Food came and we dressed our tacos. With all of the condiments, we got the tacos we'd been looking for. We were satisfied, but overall, I'd say La Sonrisa was an average food experience. Going back to the drunk food concept, I could see how La Sonrisa would rate higher with the nostalgia factor.

This place is not on the tourist route- probably wouldnât have found it without the gps. We went for lunch and were practically the only ones there. The restaurant is bright and cheery, very Mexican, has a pretty large menu. There were 5 of us so we had a variety. One person had tihe bacon wrapped, stuffed shrimp and it was a huge amount - likely should have ordered a half portion. They were delicious but very rich.Another person spoke to someone from the kichen as he wanted oysters- breaded. He got them and enjoyed them. My husband had shrimp quesadillas which were just average, I had the coconut shrimp plate with rice arranged in a flower pattern and coleslaw,my friend had the ceviche was was very nice. Our waitress spoke no English but brought someone out from the kichen when we tried to explain about the breaded oysters. He was friendly and enthusiastic. Before we left more people had filtered in- mostly Mexican folk. The people near us had huge bowls of broth with succulent shrimp in them - something I would order if I get the chance to return. This is an industrial area so large trucks noisily rumbled by but that sort of added to the experience. Would I go back? Probably, as that broth looked so good. There are so many restaurants to try- hard to try them all!
