Rancho Viejo offers good Tex-Mex in a relaxed atmosphere in a building on the square in Downtown Madisonville. They have a large menu and will create dishes to your specification that aren't on the menu. We had a large group and the staff was very attentive. The price is average. As a plus, they're open later than most restaurants in Madisonville.

The first time we've ever been to this restaurant was the last time we ever went. We took the kids and met up with some friends. It was overcrowded. The waiter was practically nonexistent to the point that we had to get one of the higher up ladies to wait on us. The small margarita I ordered came to the table a jumbo with way too much tequila in it. My order and one of our friend's orders were wrong. In fact, his looked so nasty I would haven't eaten it. Will never go back nor will ever recommend.
First of all...only way to pay is with cash. Breakfast choices of meat are numerous and fresh for taquito. Eggs made several different ways. Can also order American breakfast plates...awesome. Lunch/dinner options are different daily. Food is awesome here. Can't go wrong. Enjoy.

Restaurant was very clean, and the service was above average. On balance, those factors influenced me to give an average rating, as the food did not meet the referenced standards.Tacos were the usual from Taco Bell, but the burrito fillings were so insignificant as to be on a par with, "Oops, I spilled something on the tortilla." They disappointed to the point that I hesitate to pursue my usual habit of giving a second chance.
