Named after Abraham Lincoln, this state capital is a great place for children, history buffs and outdoor enthusiasts. Soak in the panoramic view of the city from the observation tower of the 400-foot high capitol building, whose white stone Art Deco spire can be seen from miles around. Then take a tour of the building and its grounds, where you'll find a Lincoln monument created by the same artist who sculpted the famous Lincoln statue in Washington, D.C. While you're on a history roll, visit the Governor's Mansion, whose Georgian Colonial exterior belies the varied architectural styles inside, and be sure to see the collection of dolls representing the state's first ladies dressed in their inaugural gowns. Kids will love the Folsom Children's Zoo & Botanical Gardens, where they can circle the zoo in a miniature train and see over 300 animals living among spectacular gardens. For some outdoor fun, head to one of the city's beautiful parks, the largest of which is Wilderness Park, whose hiking, biking and equestrian trails will keep you on the move for hours.

Locally owned and located downtown, Tico's has been serving Mexican inspired dishes for 40 years. Enjoy longtime favorites like the Chile Rellenos and Mahi Mahi Fish Tacos. Full bar available along with great Happy Hour specials Monday-Friday. Mexican bru
This was the original Lincoln sit down Mexican Restaurant. We came here often in the early 1980's. Our first returning visit since then treated us to the nice, large, well kept establishment we remembered. The cuisine is tasty, but not very creative. We experienced good service. Some off street parking is provided. Located in downtown Lincoln.

I ate here on a recent business trip with two colleagues. We all had excellent meals. The food was very delicious and authentic. On this occasion, I had the Carne Asada steak which was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The steak came on a hot metal plate with sliced sweet onions and a very hot chili pepper. It was a delicious pepper, but definitely only for those with a taste for hot food... even I could not finish the whole pepper.

We stumbled across El Toro while in Lincoln visiting family. We are from Canada and really crave great Mexican food. Well I had an incredible lunch platter fit for a very hungry king. Had a big Tex-mex hard beef taco, a totally stuffed chicken chimichanga, and the star of the show...... a masterpiece of a pork chile verde burrito. The chunks of pork was as big as golf balls and it was slow cooked to wonderful perfection in a roasted tomatillo sauce. I almost cried. Wife had a great mess as well and we enjoyed bone-cold Pacifico beers for $2.50. Thanks El Toro. We will see you several times each and every one of our visits to Lincoln.

This is a family restaurant with several locations in Lincoln with various names such as El Toro, Mazatlan, and Las Margaritas. They have the same menu and great food at each location. My wife and I recently visited this location and it is wonderful. It's not the largest place, but the service and food are on point. I have eaten recently at both Hacienda Real and La Paz and neither were nearly as good as this. I will never go any other place for Mexican in Lincoln Nebraska.

Sorry La Paz. Sorry Tico's. Mazatlan belongs to a group of mexican restaurants owned by the same family in Lincoln Nebraska, and this family knows how to do Mexican. The chips and salsa are outstanding and complimentary. The rest of the menu is your typical Mexican fare. I highly recommend the Carne Asada Burrito. Lean sirloin stuffed into a burrito that will definitely quench your taste buds and fill you up. There is at least a pound of meat in there. I highly recommend this place and don't forget about Margarita night !

Instead of just chips and salsa they also bring a bean dip to your table. The bean dip is spectacular!!! The salsa was mild with a real cilantro flavor. It was also very good. We ordered off the ala carte menu ... Because we filled up on dip. :) The chimichanga and enchiladas we're good. Prices were very reasonable and service was good.

After a busy day, and getting home late from work we decided to go out for some south of the border food. We have been here before and are not disappointed with their food. I ordered the pork tamale and shrimp enchilada, both were very good, and finish it up with a fried ice cream. Probably the best fried ice cream in the city.

After 18 holes of golf, my wife and I stopped by La Paloma for an early dinner. It had been a little while since we last visited, but this is still a terrific place to dine! Friendly staff, great service and terrific food are a winning combination for success. Thank you, Jessica for taking such good care of us.
