Things to do in La Manzanilla
Every year we visitcwith Leti, have a great meal and a powerful margarita. I recommend no more than two of these treats or youvmay say what I did in the middle of the night..."Somebody put someting in my margarita!"Seriously, the food and hospitality are great and now a new little baby girl to welcome you.
The Lab is a community-oriented cafe serving locally roasted coffee, espresso drinks, cold brew, baked goods, teas, mixed drinks and snacks.
This is the best coffee shop in La Manzanilla and it's often open earlier than 8AM. Laura and Monica are prompt and attentive. The coffee and espresso drinks are excellent. The shop is well appointed with art and comfortable chairs and tables. The wi-fi is excellent. The bathroom is the nicest in town and it even has a wonderful art piece inside. The Lab is two doors off the northwest corner of the square. The LAb closes at 1PM and reopens in the evening as a bar with the best chicken wings ever.
This is a lovely spot to have breakfast each morning. By the town plaza, it attracts a wide range of people. Terrific huevos rancheros; fresh fruit smoothies and pancakes. Good coffee too.
Ate breakfast there 3 times, yes it's that good. Waffles, excellent, I stayed away from anything benedict having overdosed at home the day before. Crepes, had them, really really good. Stole some bacon from somebody else at the table. Yum. The coffee is outstanding. I'd say that all in all it's one of the best breakfast places we've ever been to in Mexico, and we have been to a lot.

We had a lovely dinner last night at this restaurant; my husband enjoyed his Thai style dorado in peanut sauce served with crispy spinach and I had the penne Alfredo with shrimp followed by the chocolate orange gateau. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing; a central courtyard with a fountain and filled with plants and trees climbing toward the open ceiling. The service was friendly and the only problemo we had was that the coffee was very weak last night for some reason.

Under new ownership in 2015, and remolded twice; (completed immediately before Hurricane Patricia, and then redone again after) this is a lovely spot to enjoy an evening beverage and bask in the sunset. This is the quintessential tropical paradise beach b
Went to this restaurant on a recommendation. My husband and I had the chile con carne. It was horribly dry and loaded with cheese. Only ate a couple of spoonfuls. Our friends had the chicken strips. Those were barely adequate and appeared to be made of ground chicken shaped into a drum stick. The setting is pretty with a view of the ocean. Would never go back there. It's terribly upsetting to hear that Bambu Sunset was not able to provide you with a satisfactory meal. On behalf of Sarai, myself, and the entire staff, I offer you our apologies. Normally, I would be doing the cooking myself, but unfortunately, this season I have to be in the States. I was just in La Manzanilla a couple of weeks ago, and spent my days teaching prep-work and cooking skills to our entire kitchen staff. Now, I will give a virtual class this week with the key kitchen staff.I would like to assure you that we do not, and have never used any form of chicken strips. We source our chicken from a supplier in Puerto Vallarta who provides a milder tasting imported chicken to some of the fine dining establishments in Guadalajara and elsewhere throughout Mexico; without a doubt, we pay a premium for this. We could use lesser quality ingredients, but we pride ourselves on offering the finest quality to our customers. Herbs, spices, and chili powders and many other supplies are purchased in the United States then brought to the restaurant monthly or bi-monthly. Chocolate powder comes from France. I do wish you had spoken to my partner, Sarai, about your experience before leaving; things would have been taken care of on the spot. Should you do decide to return (and I hope you will) please make her aware of your presence. All flubs will have long been taken care of by then. Thank you.

We eat breakfast here every Sunday. Terrific fruit plate, eggs Benny, et al. Great beach setting with lots of umbrella tables. Staff is wonderful. Owners Juan and Rosa keep it spotless.

My first review was written a number of years ago. Since then, I have started spending two months a year in La Manzanilla, and this year I'm going for three months. I love this beach and town and Palapa Joe's is the center of nightlife for ex pats of the baby boomer generation, although many bring along visiting kids and grandkids who seem to have a good time as well. A number of professional musicians from Canada winter here and they keep the joint jumping. Wonderful music of our generation and everyone gets up to dance--singles as well as couples. I have an 81 year old friend who drags me out to dance by the hair if I don't show up voluntarily! This is a place for people who stay young until they die. I've eaten there 3 or 4 times and the meals were good. Let this review take precedence over the last, and the loud music that lasts all night is actually from another bar. If you go to Palapa Joe's on a music night, say hi to the keyboard player.. that's the owner and boss!

Creatively prepared by the chef/owner, these dishes still appear in my dreams.! This local chef most likely does not use the internet! internusebeside the
Gonzolo and crew offer Mexican and International food year round. Recommended. The favorites are the chili rellenos, mocajetes. I think he makes the best taquitos ever. The flan is delicious.

We ate here one evening, and it is charming and full of atmosphere. That night there there was delightful music. It was crowded, very popular. Waitstaff is very helpful. We enjoyed especiall the stuffed mushrooms. Restaurants in this town do not take most credit cards, so bring cash.

Seriously, the guy works hard and is greeting guests and taking orders, watching to make certain everything is running smoothly and making it possible for you to have a great day at the beach without worrying about all your stuff. (don't leave your valuables laying around, but yeah, you can go for a swim without worrying that your table will get taken or your stuff gone through.Drinks are good and the food is excellent. Simple Mexican beach food with a little flair. Fish tacos are wonderful and they do one with cheese in the batter that's amazing. It's an excellent location to lounge under an umbrella and people watch for the day.
