Nachos Grande

Reviewed By Lyn S

We stayed at the Ka'anapali Shores Resort, right across the street from this place. We were happy to find a small, quaint Mexican restaurant so close. I ordered nachos with carne asada, and my wife ordered chicken enchiladas. First of all, the nachos lived up to their namesake on the restaurant. They were huge and delicious, grande both ways. My wife loved her enchiladas but was somewhat disappointed with the rice. I tried her rice and agreed the flavor was unpleasant. She loved the refried beans and we both absolutely loved the salsa with the chips. We didn't appreciate at all, the fact that because we were from out of town (state) we had to pay 20 percent more than local customers. Not exactly a great way to entice repeat customers. It still wasn't expensive but didn't make us happy. As far as the atmosphere goes, like I said it was quaint and small in the regular dining room, but they also had a cantina area to have drinks and food, with music and a little more latin flair. But we did have a bird fly in and join us for dinner, if that helps you decide.

The Mala Bean Burrito with Carne Asada is “to die for,” & enough to share for two. Another personal favorite dish is the Monchego crusted quesadilla. So ono!!! Also love their “wines on tap,” especially the Saintsbury Pinot Noir. Ben and Burt at the bar are very attentive & personable. Always a favorite go to in Lahaina Town. Highly recommend!!!

We ordered a beef burrito, it was so HUGE that we split it. The cost was 14.00 and it wasn't too bad. Very chaotic at the peak of the rush, suggest you go 1/2 hr early or hour after regular lunch.
