We stopped here on our way to Oklahoma after many hours of driving. It was taco Tuesday so they were only 99 cents which can't be beat for an inexpensive meal. My husband got beef and chicken and said they were both delicious. I got cheese enchiladas which is cheese inside and outside of corn tortillas. It came with rice and refried bean (see photos). It was nice to find out that they only cook with vegetable oil instead of lard. We also got queso which was yellow and not a lot of flavor. We prefer white queso. The salsa was good but not spicy, our favorite. See photos. All in all it was a worthwhile stop just off the highway with street parking.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere. I come from Tickfaw, La. to meet family to eat and visit. Hamilton has several great places to eat and Crossfire is certainly one of them. Hamilton and The Inn are home away from home and Crossfire is one of the reasons it is. I'm getting homesick just writing this!!!!! You will not be disappointed either.

We traveled along Hwy 281 from Oklahoma to San Antonio and were looking for good Mexican food along the way and stopped here from the Trip Advisor reviews and were not disappointed. It's easy to miss because it's such a small place right along the highway as you're leaving town (traveling south). The salsa is delicious (not too hot), and we purchased a small queso which was equally delicious but more spicy than the hot sauce. My husband got the Burrito Texas with beef and said it was fantastic because the meat was marinated perfectly. I got the Puffy Tacos and they too were delicious. They are filled with hamburger meat, and I could have used a bit less of it but the puffy taco itself was my favorite part. I did notice while I was eating one the other one got soggy on the bottom, probably from too much meat as I was saying. It also didn't come with rice and beans so I added that.We will definitely be stopping here the next time we come through Hamilton. It's such a cute little town with an impressive courthouse too.

My wife and I just stopped in Fridas and ordered the Chile Rellano. It was exactly the way it should be. Freshly prepared, not sitting around all day. The pepper was sweet, the filling was great, and the chips and salsa were some of the best I've eaten. Well worth the trip, if your taking the back way on 281 to Dallas, like we are.
