I've been eating here for years. Mostly at lunch. There is almost always a line coming out the door. That's a good thing. The line is filled with everyone from concrete workers to tie clad business executives. The line moves fast and the food is great. The chili relleno burrito is my favorite. It is delicious, fresh, and filling. The carne asada tacos are a close second. The homemade green taco sauce could be a side dish -its that good. Family owned and operated.

Stopped for lunch, staff stood around talking to each other. Service very slow. Lunch service needs to be quick and efficient . Chile relleno was burned to a crisp, the beans resembled bean soup. Tostado was uninspired . We were charged for a margarita we didn’t have. Mistake???

I reviewed Mi Mexico four years ago when it first opened. We loved it then, and it remains our favorite Mexican restaurant locally. The menu is huge, with many dishes not found elsewhere. The food is also consistent from visit to visit: always great with big portions. We never leave hungry. The staff are always friendly and courteous.Mi Mexico will move to a new location before the end of 2019. We hope they continue to provide us the best Mexican food in GJ!

We were coming back fro the Black Canyon and looked for food and stopped there... Nice staff (especially the waiter who also works in the motel we stayed in ;-) and good food... OK, this is not Top Chef, but for Mexican Food -- we liked it. Also, Margarita was very good ;-)So, if you are passing by and you are hungry -- drop by (especially if you are into Mexican Food).

We were barely arriving to grand junction and wanted to get some lunch so we saw this restaurant and went to try it out. Exterior and interior is nice. Customer is average nothing too special not super attentive probably because it’s busy on a Sunday? Chips and salsa were alright. We ordered an appetizer and it came along with the food, not what we were expecting. Most likely the server didn’t understand before the food comes out. We also ordered a few more different entrees, they were okay, and we tried their horchata which was good. I’d say we’d probably stop again if we’re ever back in this direction.

Four of us enjoyed a wonderful meal that was within walking distance of our hotel. Some of the reviews had suggested the prices were a bit high, but after seeing the very varied menu, the very generous amount of food served, and tasting the quality of the dinners, we had to disagree. Alfonso, our waiter, was entertaining and attentive, the food was very good and the margarita lived up to its reputation. We would definitely return, and recommend it without hesitation.

My wife and I have visited here several times, both because we have enjoyed it and because their menu still holds multiple dishes we have yet to explore. Their mini chimichangas and rellenos are elevated by unique ingredients and perfectly matched sauces and garnishes. There is definitely a creative chef in the kitchen at this Spanish/Mexican gem on Main St. here in Grand Junction

WW Peppers

Southwestern steakhouse where the menu changes throughout the year to keep plates fresh and to introduce new menu items.

Reviewed By s2mc

We had an unexpected overnight flight delay out of Grand Junction and the airline put us up in a nearby hotel across the street from WW Peppers. The locals on our flight recommended the restaurant, along with a couple of nearby Italian eateries. As others have noted, the restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, but the interior is much more inviting - lots of wood and brick. We were seated in an area near the front and it felt cozy, although perhaps a little dark, while it opened onto a larger dining room with much more natural light. Our server, however, lit up our corner with a warm smile and attentive service, quickly filling our drink orders. Now to peruse the menu. The appetizers offered a mixed bunch, ranging from somewhat Italian salad and mushrooms to various Mexican genres, from a bowl of red or green to nachos, chips and salsa (yes, Dorothy, they're $5 - we're not in Texas any more), queso, and guacamole (seriously, market price?).The steak and seafood section offered a couple of cuts of steak plus cold water lobster and fried shrimp, all of which felt overpriced - $42 for a ribeye and $23 for fried shrimp - although the portion sizes seemed generous. Then there was the "Southwestern fare" section, which was...interesting. First of all, just about everything is prepared with flour or corn "shells", including burritos, enchiladas, and rollups, with fried chimichanga is the only thing in a tortilla? Our server explained that a "shell" was in fact a tortilla that had been crisped up in the oven. Huh? Why? Then, a few entrees contained ingredients that just sound plain wrong in Mexican food, such as cream cheese, seafood sauce, almonds, olives, portobellas, bacon. And I had to smile that the menu proudly states they use 100% real crab in the enchiladas opposed to...?On the plus side, while the menu prices for these items also seemed high, many of the entrees are available in a smaller portion, which we always gratefully appreciate.Having grown up on the Gulf Coast, with an adult child in Baltimore, I steered clear of the crab and shrimp and stuck with a bowl of green chili with four shell fans. Spouse opted for the smaller size enchilada supreme, and son, after seeing the full order on the next table, went for the smaller size chicken chimichanga. Both the kitchen and the server were efficient and we were served in a very reasonable amount of time. The smaller portions were definitely the right choice for us. My green chili was fine, although the flavor was a little one note, it could have used more of the tender pork and some seasoning (lime juice, cilantro, cumin?) with 4 four shell fans, basically 4 entire tortillas crisped on the fan ends and soft a few bites in - way too much bread. The chimi was also heavy on the bread, oddly not really deep fried, and covered in cheese sauce, although the chicken inside was moist and tender. Same with the beef enchilada - well cooked beef swimming in that same cheese sauce, which was reminiscent of that queso we used to make in our ramen-noodle college days.As for dessert, the large group next to us was celebrating a birthday and ordered the strawberry nachos, which were huge, so we passed, although they looked quite good. Overall, that table proclaimed everything absolutely delicious. I suspect it's local preference. Grand Junction isn't a large city and dining options can be limited. Kiddo and I found it passable, but spouse gave it higher marks, except for that overwhelming cheese sauce.

This a plain, clean, old-school place. The staff are friendly as you are to them, but if you come here expecting be fawned over by folks pushing the trendiest Mexican Moderne floppy mini-tacos with a tiny bite of raw fish under cucumber then this isn't your kind of place, so keep on moving towards Aspen where you'll find all of that kind of faux friendliness and fake food you can afford to pay for.We last stopped here for a late breakfast on a weekday. The steak, eggs and hash browns hit the spot, and some refried beans on the side were excellent. The chips and salsa were good, and the beer was nice and cold.Make no mistake: this isn't New Mexican style fare like is so wonderfully available in the San Juan Valley -- this is the kind of home-style Mexican food so familiar to generations of Texans, Californios, Arizonans, and Denverites, whether Chicano or Anglo. If you're comfortable in your own boots and respect what Las Marias serves up, you'll enjoy dining here.

We just left Aztecas. I was starving so we stopped at the first place we saw for a late lunch. What a pleasant surprise! Fabulous lunch menu, varied and many sizes. However if you’re ever driving through Grand Junction, like we were, make sure to eat here. They make the BEST Chile Relleno I’ve ever had and I’m over 70. The sopapillos filled with chicken and topped with green sauce were outstanding!!!
