Service here has always been good for me, what else is there to really say, it's a Taco Bell and KFC in one.

I have been going to La Mexicana for a few years. Its not fancy, but the food is usually good and the service is attentive. However, since they opened a second location in Gaithersburg, I eat there more often. This visit the food was disappointing. We ordered veggie nachos with refried beans, as an appetizer. What we got was chips with cheese (not completely melted) with peppers on it. There were no beans or other veggies. No up to the previous standard. The waitress mentioned that the cook was new. We didn't want to wait for it to be r-emade. Other food was okay, but just not what we expected. The service was pleasant and attentive. I think we will stick with the Gaithersburg location. It has a nicer atmosphere.

My first sign to run should have been that it was 75% empty on Cinco de Mayo. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but it was obvious that this visit would be short. The staff did not welcome or seat us (it's not like they were busy or anything), so we made our way to the bar. The bartender wasn't very welcoming either, but at least he acknowledged our presence. The chips and salsa were gross. The chips tasted stale and the salsa looked like a bowl of watery tomato paste with onions bobbing around in it. And it tasted about as good as that sounds. YUCK! I mean, how do you mess up chips and salsa?!?I decided to order a margarita with sugar while I scanned the menu. What I received tasted like a glass full of margarita mix. It was not balanced, shaken, or blended. I bet the bartender did little more than pour something from a jug over ice and sit it in front of me.My boyfriend was equally unimpressed and recommended that we go to one of the better Mexican spots in the area instead. I happily agreed. Getting the hell out of there was, by far, the best part of our visit.

The first time we ate here was last Easter Sunday. Yearning for something sweet, we stopped by this restaurant and ordered 2 types of desserts for take out. This time we decided to have our lunch here. We ordered Enchilada with grilled chicken and Quesadilla with sweet pork for our main entrees. They were served with salads, beans and rice. For desserts, we ordered 2 Tres Leches, which we preferred over the Key Lime dessert. Our foods were delicious and promptly served. We selected the meats we wanted in our sandwiches and the items to be added to them such as lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, dressings, etc. Our desserts were prepared and taken to our table when done. Total of our foods and drinks is about $35. There is no need for tipping since you take your own foods to your table. We 're definitely dining here again and try their other dishes. Note that they don't serve hot beverages, only cold drinks. Wished they serve hot tea or hot cocoa!

As most people, I have been to countless Mexican restaurants. I believe that Senior Tequilas is a cut above. First of all, the food and service are outstanding. We were met by our server almost immediately and we saw her frequently even though she was quite busy. They must choose their staff carefully, because she was friendly and efficient. My wife had a chicken dish and I had a burrito with chorizo, beef, and chicken. Yum. The flavor of my burrito was wonderful. Itâs also the little things that make Senior Tequilas special, like serving the beans in a corn cup rather than just dishing them onto the plate. I would definitely choose them over the plethora of restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

The First impressive thing to me about this Mi Rancho (there are several in our county), is they take enough time to cook from scratch. (I didn't watch them, but scratch is important step to authenticity.) Service is decent, the place is clean. Background music was appropriate. .Finding the entrance for cars is a little awkward - no front drive: go around the block to the left, and come in the back way, look for a prominent "Mi Rancho sign.).The least impressive thing to me is almost every entree consists of the rice and beans. That is normal for the average Mexican style restaurant, and it goes well with the regular fare of tacos, enchiladas, etc, but for some of the more exotic entrees I'd love seeing a few other options, fixed in a regional style - entrees such as Costillas & Carne Asada. However, I must say the seasonings used with the saffron rice and beans have a flavor worth remembering..There are a few options for vegetarians, and if I'd asked, I might have been able to substitute. Staff was generally helpful..For those who like shrimp, close to a dozen options exist where shrimp is included..Tried the spinach dip as an appetizer once. It made a great first impression with fresh greenness to the spinach. I will give Mi Rancho credit also for adding a few bits of artichoke for their own signature. However the thin sauce was less like a dip, yet not quite soup in consistency, with a strong flavor somewhere between artichoke and salt..For desert, we once had a delicious and generous serving of flan. I felt a little like a pig getting every last drop, but it was irresistible to my taste buds. :).All of our visits occurred in September, for an early dinner.
