Two of the most visited plantations are Hopsewee Plantation and the Hampton Plantation State Historic Site. High on your list of local don’t miss attractions should be the Kaminski House Museum, the stately former home of a Confederate sea captain, and The Rice Museum, which details the history of this important crop through dioramas, maps, artifacts and other exhibits. Our group of seven ate dinner here while in Georgetown on business. Everyone ordered something different and we were all pleased with our choices. The guacamole was good, as were the margaritas.

We recently were wandering downtown Georgetown in South Carolina and stopped at this little restaurant. Don't let the simple decor fool you. The food is fabulous and fresh! I had the vegetable burrito with rice and beans. So fresh and flavorful without the salty after taste. My sister had the chicken taco salad which she deemed amazing and flavorful. Don't skip the chips and salsa!

This is not the standardized Mexican fare you find at most restaurants east of Texas. The restaurant is small, clean and has a very friendly staff. My wife and I took some time to decipher the menu and ended up ordering Gorditas and Alambre de Pollo. The delicious homemade corn gorditas were filled with fajita style chicken and beans. The chicken alambre was similar to fajitas, but well season and mixed with cheese. Both dishes were outstanding. They have a well stocked salsa bar I discovered too late to enjoy. I'll try it next time.Highly recommend.
