We are regulars here because the service is always excellent and friendly. The atmosphere is very relaxing. And the food is always good. Prices are reasonable as well.

This one is a Taco Bell Pizza Hut. Nice and new with colorful decor and modern artwork. Large windows all around. Lots of high tops as well as banquet and table seating. The staff is very nice and respectful and helpful. We've had the various Mexican items a few times and the Pizza Hut personal pan pizzas. All very good. Two problems are like a lot of fast food places, the person who used to clean tables seems to have disappeared with the drop in economy these days. The handicapped tables are always clean. However, for the other tables sometimes I have had to get water from the bathroom and clean one off myself. They sometimes have the sodas right but more often than not of the times I've been, and many times friends who live locally have been, the drink/carbonation ratio is off or it's all carbonation and no flavor. Often it tastes like cola that ice has melted in...watered down and no fizz. They can't seem to get it corrected amazingly. (And I don't say that idly. We have asked them about it).Otherwise, their pink lemonade and water are good and everything else is good. And, if you can catch a glimpse between the posters in the large windows, you will see the Blue Ridge Mountain range. Gorgeous. Wish they didn't have to have the posters but I realize they are standard.

This is a neighborhood family place all the way. It's in a commercial strip along a main street in suburban Lynchburg... with some apartment and housing complexes nearby.You're greeted with a rousing 'Ola!' from everyone including the owners' daughter who was helping the night we were there.(The daughter happened to be one of our grand daughters best friend) Our daughter knew to order both the regular and the spicy salsa... which came with fresh chips. The spicy was perfect...as it was just enough to 'light your lips on fire' according to my youngest grand daughter.There is an extensive entree selection... from enchiladas to seafood to fajitas. Grand daughters had tacos and Mac & Cheese... daughter had a grande burrito that was loaded with meat & beans... wife had tacos al carbon(chicken)... and I had shredded chicken enchiladas verdes. All fixed to perfection... and all with enough spice to accentuate the Mexican spirit. Note: my tomatillo sauce had a nice hint of lime and sweetness that really sparked the dish.Don't be shocked when you get the bill. You'll think that they left off a couple of things, because these prices are cheap, really cheap. It's one of the best values you'll find in Lynchburg or anywhere else.The service is friendly and efficient. The food make take a few extra minutes, because everything is made to order.There is on street parking in the front or a lot in the back.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend. It had a 20 minute wait, but we waited no more than 10 minutes before being seated. The chips and dips are amazing and our food was delicious. We couldn't believe how quickly everything was served. We will definitely be coming back each time I head down to visit my daughter!

Fantastic food, very fresh. The staff was outstanding and very accomodating with an elderly relative who dined with us and explained many of the toppings that could be selected. The prices are very reasonable and the restaurant is exceptionally clean.

This is the second time in recent orders that I have been disappointed with my very favorite LUNCH SPECIAL #1 ((CHILE POBLANO OR CHILE RELLENO, TACO, BEANS, GUACAMOLE, SOUR CREAM AND PICO DE GALLO SALAD). I usually order it with a POBLANO. When I picked up my order today (October 6, 2017, at 2:41 pm), I asked about the Pico de Gallo Salad Guacamole, and Sour Cream being in the same container as the Chile Poblano and Beans, but the cashier only responded about the Taco. In retrospect, I should not have accepted the Lunch Special #1 because when I got home with it, I could not believe that the Cold Items (Pico de Gallo Salad, Guacamole, and Sour Cream) had not only been plated in the same takeout container as the Hot Items (Chile Poblano and Refried Beans), but they were ON TOP OF THE HOT BEANS. I have been eating La Carreta's Lunch Special #1 for over 20 years, and never, NOT ONCE, has the Pico de Gallo Salad and Guacamole ever been on the same plate or in the same container as the hot items; it has ALWAYS been on a separate plate or in a separate container. (Speaking of this, the last time that I ordered Lunch Special #1 for carry out before today, my Pico de Gallo Salad and Guacamole were missing all together. I called about it and the young lady who answered the phone told me that they would replace the whole meal and that she had written my name down.) I didn't think about asking for the replacement today. Now I believe that they should replace both Lunch Special #1's. I contacted the through their website, so I hope that someone in their management team reads it and/or this review and responds to me. I took photos of my meal that clearly show the cold items on top of the beans and in the same container with the hot items. I am attaching two photos to this review.

I now have had lunch and dinner here and while it is good, its nothing to shout about. The food was warm when I got it and the service was okay. There are other establishments in town that are just as good if not better. I probably will stick with the other location.

My wife and I have visited this place multiple times now and we have been very impressed every time. The food is delicious, the service is amazing, and the value is great! If you love Mexican food, then this place is a must! Don't miss out.

I reviewed this restaurant in 2016 and was unimpressed. Well, my opinion has totally changed! Their carnitas tacos are way better than I had at a Flagstaff, AZ place that had glowing reviews on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. Really recommend that you try the cactus appetizer - we get it every time now! My husband likes the carnitas combo and his usual "make your own" combo. The service couldn't be any friendlier. Take advantage of the loyalty program. This is our Thursday place!
