Tried one of the new chicken specials. Had buffalo and blue strips. It was really good. My wife had the two meat fajitas, always good. The margarita was tasty and you really get your money's worth. Nice service. Would go back for sure.

Where else in Evanston can you get a Sloppy Joe with a traditional chocolate malt (not to be confused with a shake, never confuse a malt for a shake) on the side. My grandkids love this tiny corner eatery, and so do I.

They have a smaller menu of appetizers, tacos, and tortas. The tacos we had were some of the best tacos we have ever had. The guacamole was alright, missing a little extra flavor. They have a good drink selection. If we are in Evanston again, we would definitely stop in for lunch or dinner again.

Award winning Mexican Restaurant and Tequila Bar and Brewpub. Fresh made Mexican cuisine, fantastic margaritas and a 100 bottle craft tequila list featuring only 100% de Agave tequilas. Beginning in 2016 we began brewing our own beer.
Recommended by family whom we were visiting in Wilmette. He has visited Mexico frequently, as have we, so we are always cautious about trying new Mexican restaurants as most are disappointing. Depot Nuevo does not disappoint! The tacos are delicious and are served in freshly grilled soft corn tortillas The salsas taste fresh. The huge selection of tequilas and mescals appear in very good margarita variations. Best of all is the decor - no giant sombreros, just classy black and white photos of Mexico itself, agave harvest etc.

This afternoon I was hosting two people for lunch and we were looking for some excellent Mexican food. That Little Mexican Cafe had some good reviews and were we disappointed and I was embarrassed. One had fajitas...they were good however two of us had a taste for Quesadillas and never in my life ... at any restaurant... have I (and we) had such skimpy, tasteless food.No salsa, no guacamole, no sour cream .... simply bland quesadillas. I had cheese and when I opened mine to look and show the others... it was practically impossible to see ANY cheese inside.I love quesadillas and have never been to a restaurant and had just that .... no quac or sour cream or sauce. Also ... the salsa and chips were never replenished .... and the attention given to our table was nil.I have never written a negative review before so you know how bad things were. That Little Mexican Cafe has a lot to learn and needs to be more attentive to it's offerings and service.

Many times we have passed this restaurant on our many visits to Evanston. We are so disappointed that we did not try this place sooner. The atmosphere is Mexican with an industrial vibe. The lunch was excellent. We enjoyed the ubiquitous chips and salsa to start. The red salsa was my favorite as it had a slightly smoky taste to it. My husband and I sampled four different tacos and loved them all, particularly the lamb barbacoa and the chicken mole. It isn't every Mexican restaurant that even serves mole, so this was a real treat. We will definitely return next time we are in Evanston.

Warm room, welcoming and attentive staff and an ecletic menu with a Latino twist. The chilaquiles have a nice burst of heat and Derek's Favorite Eggs come with a nice spicy chorizo. Many other more standard items on the menu for the heat adverse. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food.
