I've been coming to Vera Cruz for years, and while some visits have been better than others, my recent visit was among the best. Friendly, swift service by our experience waiter had us seated with our beverage orders in very short time. The salsa is very good and the chips thin and warm. I chose the Villa Rica combination of three blue corn enchiladas with three sauces: pipian, salsa verde, and molé. Delicious! The swirl margaritas were tangy, not sweet; there are drink specials for happy hour. My friend's enchilada with cheese and red sauce was also really good. My only quibble is that the server was so efficient, he rushed us and had our checks on the table before I'd even finished the entree. Once he realized we'd hunkered down to chat, he stopped rushing and let us linger.

It's a fantastic restaurant that should be on Tripadvisor. Awesome food!!
I was disappointed. I had read some reviews in another website. It must have been one of those websites where businesses can pay posting fake reviews.I have been trying a bunch of Mexican restaurants since I have relocated to Texas. I enjoy Mexican food and text MexThe place looked promising since it is in a great location. It is right outside Dallas ,but it is not as busy as it is in the city. In addition, it looks great on the outside. All of the employees were really friendly. The restaurant inside has really high ceilings but it is not very well decorated. My wife had the carne asada. She does not like to share her food, but she let me try some of it. The meat was delicious. He was slightly pink in the inside and sizzling on the outside. However, the rest of her entree was not good.I on the other hand had the three tamales plate. The waiter asked if I wanted chili or cheese on top of the tamales. I found that question really odd. But, I thought that it would be more normal to ask for cheese. Needless to say, the entree was horrendous . I could not even eat it. The cheese was actually Velveeta cheese. The kind 1 buys at the supermarket in a box. When I ordered the check, the waiter asked me if we liked our dinner. I told him I really disliked it. To his credit, he asked if I wanted the entree replaced. At that point, I just wanted to get out of there, but I thanked him for the offer.I am certain I will never go back.

After a few years away, I had dinner here a few weekends ago with friends. The chicken mole enchiladas were even better than I remembered! Also tasty were the pork and chicken tamales, and the enchiladas suizas. Their rice is fluffy too, not greasy and heavy as tex-mex rice sides so often are.The service was friendly and prompt. The only down side was the strolling singer who added to the already high volume of noise in the restaurant. Still, the food was so good that it was worth it.
We like the specials that change periodically. My wife likes taquitos, and I like the Street Tacos. I just wish they still came in chicken. This place is family friendly and usually pretty busy. It is sometimes difficult to find a clean table.
I usually order the beef taco salad and have never been disappointed. Fast drive thru service with polite people. Their guacamole is fresh as is their hot sauce. Ask for extra hot sauce, no extra charge.

Every day at 8 a.m., we start chopping veggies, soaking beans, and prepping our mesquite-fired grill. Not because we have to, but because we believe in delicious flavors made-to-order, from hand-rolled enchiladas to our sizzling fajitas to guacamole made
the restaurant was not busy, but there was no employee the front desk. When the hostess appeared she was rude. We were seated in a section with a very busy server. He did a really nice job. the food was mediocre. The manager walked through the restaurant and spoke to every table except ours. Love this chain; this store is mediocre.
We normally call for pick up, but if you need to dine in, it´s a nice place at the shopping center. My favorites are the Mexican Spinach Enchiladas, and the Hawaiian Chicken Breast; and sometimes the Bacon & Cream Chicken with Rajas (When I am sleepy, so wake up with this hot plate LOL).

We ate lunch here. Service was good, and for the most part food was good. My friend says his was great, the Sinco taco plate. Mine was ok, but a little spicey for the average person. Thank you for the nice rating and comments. We appreciate your patronage.

We have tried this restaurant twice and it's just not good. When you go to a Mexican restaurant you expect their rice and beans to be good. It's like going to a Chinese place you expect their rice to be perfect. I ate to say it because the people seem to be really nice, and it's certainly not like they don't try because they always seem to be open but I think it's time to let the cook go and find one who knows what they're doing.
