This is a first for me. A one star review. We crossed the road, having ignored other eateries waving menus. Sat down and soon the waiter came to take our order. We were part way there when he spotted some other possible diners and took off to persuade them to his restaurant. We waited for several minutes and he didn't return so we went to the next restaurant down who dealt with our order in a normal manner!

My family is vegetarian and we had a bit of trouble finding good veggi food. But this place made us feel at home. They made veg food for us and also had veg options in their buffet. Lovely service, great food and the people were very friendly. I would recommend trying hochaka here if you can. Very economically priced compared to the hotels that charge a lot.

This hotel is very regal, the staff are just amazing, professional, efficient, kind and friendly, we loved there approach and regret not staying for longer. The room was perfect, we stayed in a honeymoon suite. No complaints! What this hotel has to offer.... itâs stunning. thereâs a garden where they grow food that they serve in the restaurant. the swimming pool is beautiful, the green trees the wildlife, I could go on. There is also a church, and a restaurant opening soon next to it, on the site, potential wedding venue 10000% The food in the restaurant is beautiful, breakfast was amazing! I canât recommend this hotel enough and I will stay for longer on my next visit for sure. If you manage to go, look at some of the stones in the walls, with carvings, from the original Chichen Itza (actual stones) I didnât believe it, but it makes the hotel even more special somehow. Thank you so much for making us your hotel choice. We appreciate your nice comments about our services and hard work. We will be more than glad to welcome you back in your following visits!

Position fantastic, out of the path and very deep in the jungle. By night you listen to the jungle sounds. Rooms adorable, large and separated form the others, it's made by concrete bungalows with 2 floors, each floor has a room. The pool is weird but after a day at the pyramid it's a plus. The restaurant is in a great position and very tropical. The food is absolutely no! The food is more then basic and being in mexico and eat like this is like an insult. Staff super friendly and polite. Overall is a very good place to stay but not to eat, this is a pity because the restaurant is in a great position. This resort is far from any civil area, 15 minutes drive.

The Hacienda grounds are just beautiful and the buffet price for lunch was quite reasonable. Drinks are extra. The assortment of food was not very extensive but adequate. I cannot say that there was anything truly exceptional and we would have hoped for a soup choice. It was pretty empty at first and then busloads came in and the lines just grew and and grew. The plates were not that large and I felt badly for those on the buses as they probably could not really put much on the tiny plates. We had time so were able to go for seconds eventually. Two groups of dancers presented short dance presentations as well and asked for tips on the way out. A walk on the Hacienda grounds was the real highlight.

We (family with two teenagers) have been there late in the evening, 9.00 pm. Service is not really great but we tried everything they had in the menu and everything was perfecly cooked. Sopa de lima, meat, chicken, everything! And,\...super cheap for what you can get.

After our Chitzen Itza tour we stopped here for a buffet lunch that centred around regional cuisine.Dishes included: ⢠eggs with chaya (tree spinach) ⢠rice ⢠refried beans ⢠tamales ⢠chicken Valladolid style ⢠fried tortillas with tomato sauce ⢠pulled pork Yucatecan style ⢠chilaquiles - fried tortilla strips typically topped with a spicy tomato sauce, onions and cheese. There was an international section for people with less adventurous(?) appetites including: ⢠hamburger sliders ⢠chicken fajitas ⢠fish fingers ⢠mashed potatoes ⢠spaghetti â cream and tomato sauce ⢠nachos with cheese ⢠vegetable soup ⢠mixed vegetables (similar to what you buy in frozen food section at home)I sampled all of the Yucatecan regional dishes and the dishes were okay. The lime soup was really tasty. The horchata (beverage made with rice) was tasty and refreshing. My spouse had a strawberry daiquiri that cost 75 pesos.Desserts were limited to jello, mango pudding and sherbet. There was also a limited fruit selection â oranges and watermelon. There was also a very limited salad section â lettuce and the usual accompaniments including cucumbers and tomatoes.Near the end of the meal there was entertainment â dancing by locals including dancing while balancing bottles on their heads.Ratings Breakdown ⢠Quality and taste â nothing spicy at all; overall good tasting food. 3.5 out of 5 rating. ⢠Quantity vis-à -vis price â hard to say what the price was but itâs a buffet and was included as part of the excursion package. Limited selection of dishes. ⢠Service â efficient service. The rating for the food is somewhere between above average and good. If youâre using Trip Advisorâs rating system the rating goes from 3 stars (average) to 4 stars (really good). There is no rating for âgoodâ. The overall food experience rates a 3.5 out of 5 rating.Notes & Tips ⢠This restaurant is a stop for many bus excursions. ⢠Check the website for additional information ⢠Initially, on our way to Chichen Itza, we stopped at the adjoining souvenir store for a 30 minute âwashroomâ break. ⢠After lunch we went to Ik Kil cenote.

It's a buffet. Lots of food and various presentations from tacos and tamales to more sophisticated dishes - but still it is a buffet. Desserts were meh. They had dancers, but only a five minute presentation. The hotel restaurant had a less extensive menu, but the food was of better quality as was the service for about the same price

THE OFFICIAL RESTAURANT OF CHICHEN ITZA! Open until the last customer leaves! Oxtun is open during and after the show "Nights of Kukulcan".
After seeing a couple of guys drinking margaritas with Coronas inverted in the large glasses, we came back the next night to try one. Strange, but true. Jose said it was a specialty of Oxtun, only available here. We enjoyed it and it was a fun novelty. Food was good too!

This was part of a tour to Chichen Itza, a lunch stop on the way back. We had lots of choices, and were pleased with all of the food. Portions were far too large for us, but others may like having so much. I especially liked the salsa.
