I have been a fan of La Bamba since the first one opened over 20 years ago in champaign. Authentic Mexican food, made by, and owned by Mexicans. Big monster super burritos, and delicious taco's are a great filler after a hard night of charging. The bbq chicken super is what I get every single time and it tastes great.

Like a cross between Chipotle and Taco Bell. Great tasting free salsa and chips per order. If you like tacos, quesadillas and the such, you will enjoy their food . good service although there are a lot of items that cost extra when added to your food and they are not too quick to point it out to you and I had a few items added already when they asked me if it was ok that the items cost extra.

We stopped in for supper it was busy but not over crowded they handle it well.most people eat and leave.I had some different items . I ordered a chicken torta and a chicken sopa.they were very good.the torta was good size.Filling.My friends had tacos.very good.3 types of salsas.very good.we will return.

You know what to expect, reasonable food and drinks, a toss up on service depending on the cureent staff, so this review is about a current food item. The Chicken crispers and waffles. Astonishingly good. Waffles were crispy outside, nice inside, crispers flavorful as usual. Overall a great addition to the menu.

We were there on ISU family weekend and the place was packed. Service was pretty fast for the crowd they had. The salsa was very good. Everyone liked their food. The margaritas were served in a plastic glass with no salt. I assume it was because all other glasses were dirty, but that was my only complaint.

We absolutely love this place. We visit every Thursday for dinner. The menu is good as are the unlimited chips and salsa are good. The service is what keeps us coming back. The servers are so fun, friendly and attentive. We'll continue to come here every week!

El Porton is probably one of the few restaurants in town that serves authentic Mexican food. It has the best refried beans in town! Very popular for the lunch crowd, close to Wesleyan University. We have always enjoyed good, fresh food here.

I love places like this that keep it simple and flavor their food perfectly. Tasty food doesnt need to be what I like to call Foo-Foo.. They are just Fresh, Hot and Delicious every time. The salsa's they give to top the burritos with is also awesome. I judge each restaurant by a number of different factors, but this one is simple.. Easy, delicious food, that I will eat over and over again.. 100% recommend..
