Staying in Yosemite we wanted a restaurant that was close by to our Airbnb, had a relaxed atmosphere and serving tasty dishes so chose Casa Velasco. We were cheerfully greeted as we entered the restaurant and although it was very busy we were shown to a free table for four. The menu was extensive and we all chose the vegetarian options. The food came out quickly. It was fresh and tasty and hot. Generous portions. You will definitely leave feeling very full.

My family and I ate here while vacationing. We really enjoyed it. The food was delicious, the portions were huge, and the service was outstanding. Everyone went above and beyond to be attentive and ensure we had a fabulous dining experience plus the food was great. After a day of hiking in Yosemite, it was perfect!

Iâd tried to visit here on the previous day only to find they are closed on Sundays. They close early too (8 pm). Looks pretty nice inside and I got a table right away even though busy. I ordered a beer (though I couldnât see any on the menu) and three tacos. The menu mentioned add-on sides for extra but the waiter didnât ask (and actually I donât think Iâd have needed any more food). The chorizo taco was the star - really tasty and juicy - and the carnitas taco was very good too and not too greasy as they can be. The only slight disappointment was the carne asada - a bit chewy and a couple of gristly bits. Good overall and only $9. Annoyingly the beer was $7, which might have put me off ordering it if itâd been on the menu. Still reasonable price overall. Lots of good things on the menu so I would go back.
My husband and I were looking for some good Mexican food in Oakhurst when we stubbled upon this place. We don't eat meat and we love Mexican food because it still tastes great without the meat. When we arrived we asked the cashier what the best options were for veggie food and he laughed at us and said that he didn't know because all he eats is meat. I looked around the menu, with no help from the cashier, and I ended up ordering four tacos because they had a $1 taco special on Wednesdays. My husband ordered a wet burrito and we sat down and waited for our food. We started to look at the receipt and noticed that he charged us $1.79 for each taco when the special said that it was $1. We asked the cashier and he said that it was because we didn't get the meat tacos so he couldn't ring it up as the taco special. I was shocked and really upset. We got less food and he charged us more.. And after all that trouble, the food barely tasted mediocre. Overall, we ended up paying $20 for a meal that would have been cheaper and better tasting at Taco Bell. Also, I felt slightly put off because he seemed offended because we didn't eat meat. I would not recommend this place for vegetarians at all.
