We had a group of 11 for our sons birthday. We have been there many times before and the service and the food was excellent! Not last night!! We had to wait almost one hour on our food and the drink orders were forgotten four different times! We had at least three different servers and twice had to get up and ask a manager to send a server! At last but not least, the food was cold and orders not complete! I hope this was just a bad night! Phillip, I'm sorry to hear you were so disappointed in your experience with us. We always want you to feel taken care of with fast, friendly, attentive service and enjoy a delicious meal. It sounds like we were short staffed this night, and I apologize if we came off as anything less than professional with you. This was our first visit but not our last. From the warm welcome to the terrific mojito and delicious spicy steak and shrimp it couldn't have been better. It was evident as other diners arrived that they have a serious following - many were greeted with big hugs. Our server couldn't have been more charming. The steak and shrimp normally come with rice and beans but she was very happy to exchange them for the jalapeno grits. Also delicious. With all the upscale dining coming to downtown Alpharetta, it's nice to know that there are still places that offer a lovely experience with good people, delicious food at fair prices. Keep up the good work, Rio Balsas!

We called in for drinks on a Tuesday evening and the service was dire . I had to call for a server twice to order drinks and when i ordered a drink it took 20 mins to get it. This is from a restaurnat with about 10 people in it . At 9.30 they kicked us out and closed because it was slow . i asked for another drink and was refused , not the best customer service I have had.

We were very pleased w/ the specials(both drink and food) that were being offered on a Monday evening at El Potrillo.The service was attentive without being overbearing.The food was exactly as described by the menu and also well portioned.The house salsa was the perfect amount of spice and consistency and the house margaritas were perfectly balanced without being overly sweet.

This place is the real deal Mexican! We ordered to go after hearing and reading such great reviews. We were wowed! The chicken burrito was amazing and it was large enough for my husband and I to share. My kids had a steak taco and chicken quesadilla. I got to try both of their meals and they were very tasty. Lots of great sauces to choose from. I especially liked the pickled jalapeño salsa. We look forward to trying ordering from them again. If they had margarita's it would hands down be our go to for Mexican dine it!

I eat at this restaurant twice a year when I'm here on business.Tried the enchiladas verdes.The green sauce was pretty bad. It was full of uncooked cilantro which I tried my best to pick out. I didn't get enough sauce; the enchiladas were dry. I ordered extra. It was cold. Yuk. And it had even more cilantro floating around. I like cilantro in moderation, but it was the dominant flavor in this sauce, and that's just wrong. The cold sauce knocked this rating from a 4 to a 3. The beans were excellent, as were the chips and salsa, even though the salsa was lacking heat.Good service.

We came here for lunch and although I have been to the Woodstock location many times, I have never been here. We had some kind of salmon on a chip which the waiter suggested. Soooo good. Then we shared two fish tacos with black beans and rice. Excellent. The house margarita was great, and I don't say that lightly. I had margaritas in two other places this week (on vacation), and they are not all created equal! Love the atmosphere too. We love El Felix and have spent absurd amounts of time waiting for a table. The steak tacos are plain and simple, yet delicious! Chips are thin, crispy and plentiful. The margaritas are just ok... I wish they would discover the secrets of Pure and bring them over. They are strong, just not tasty. Regardless, we will keep coming. We are big fans!Happy to have you in our fan club, ChasingSun101!
