I visited La Comida on a Saturday evening around 8:30 with a cousin. La Comida is in a shopping area with many restaurants and shops, and the parking was almost completely full in the area. Once we got into the restaurant, we were quickly seated at one of the last few available tables, and a waitress quickly came for our drink order â beer for me and a cocktail for my cousin. A man brought chips and salsa, and I was glad we each got a dish of salsa. The salsa was tangy and the consistency just right for my taste â not too chunky and not too watery. I ended up getting a second dish of salsa as we waited and without us having to ask, another man brought a second basket of chips. I ordered the broiled shrimp in garlic butter sauce, surrounding a cone of rice and accompanied by vegetables. I got a side of charro beans, too. My cousin got a combination plate, and the food soon came out. The shrimp in my dish were red (see picture), which I didnât expect, but they were delicious. Cauliflower, carrots, broccoli, and zucchini were also in the dish, and the charro beans I got on the side were also very good (they include pieces of bacon that add flavor). My cousinâs combination plate (see picture) also looked good and she said it was also delicious. As we talked we noticed the restaurant has a flamingo theme â there are two life-size flamingo statues just inside the entrance, some flamingo string lights along an interior divider (see picture), and pictures on the wall, too â the atmosphere was casual and welcoming. Iâd love to visit again on my next trip to Dallas to try other items on La Comidaâs menu!

We had Brisket in soft taco format. Absolutely fantastic taste from the Fixinâs in the taco itself through the tasty spices in the yellow rice, and the slaw type salad included on the platter. The complimentary Chips served before your meal are first class, and you get a dish with three choices of tasty dipping condiments for them. Beautiful upscale decor, top notch service by Daniel B., attentive, non obtrusive, and timely. Loved this place, will return absolutely.

Our family of 6 adults thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here on a slow Monday night. First, the atmosphere of the newly renovated space (formerly El Fenix) is wonderful -- dark, earthy tones, lots of wood, and great light fixtures. The bar is long and welcoming. Service was superb. Our visit was further enhanced by really good Happy Hour prices. Our group enjoyed some nice early tastes by getting one order of house made guacamole. I loved the skirt steak with wonderful Mexican spices rubbed in. It came with a substantial side of delicious black beans, and also an additional side of my choice (Mexican squash) which was also very tasty. The steak was substantial, tender enough (for a skirt steak) and perfectly cooked. I ended up taking a little less than half of it home for lunch the next day.Complimentary homemade tortilla chips and salsa are plentiful. My House Margarita was very good and also substantial.Everyone else in our party enjoyed their meals, and our server.

Good Friday night just before 6p. Easy parking in front. A well-dressed married couple asks for a table. When asked if we have a reservation, and we say 'No," we're escorted through a 3/4 empty main dining room to the low-ceilinged, dark back room. There, nothing but families with small children. When we leave less than an hour later, the main high-ceilinged dining room is maybe 2/3 full with mostly younger patrons and maybe one child. Our food? The Budin Azteca Vegetales was undercooked zucchini chunks surrounding a tasteless, stacked square of tortillas and cheese. My wife's tacos were standard fare. MM is also about the only place in town to charge for a side of corn tortillas ($3 for 4). We passed. Service was attentive. We've been here for years and had great experiences. Now, given the plethora of Mexican restaurants in town, including other Mess Maya locations, we won't be returning to this one.

The food was good but I was very disappointed, when I left. The sour cream sauce was different and not what I'm used to getting with my chimachunga. My rice was a little bland. Also, I'm not used to the queso, tortillas, & sopapillas not being complimentary. Our waitress was nice but she didn't come to the table as often as we would have preferred. I didn't make as big a deal about that because they were pretty busy. Unfortunately, I won't be back though.

Really nice dinner and the staff were very attentive. I ordered the chicken quesadillas which were very good and fresh tasting and the cabo flip margarita which was smooth and nice. Would recommend and definitely would go back if I am in town again.

Maybe I should have been hungrier when I attended here.I didn't fully enjoy the experience and found service slow; although we were a large crowd the rest of the restaurant was somewhat deserted, so perhaps we just visited during a quiet time with insufficient staff. The food was okay; some starters were tasty and my main course wasn't bad but I'm not sure I'd return again.

Third time I've been here while in business trip and staying at the Westin.Food is consistent but not overly creative. The margaritas with sangria are a hit. Definitely a solid choice if in the area.Easy to get seating and nice view of the skating rink. Again, if I'm at the Westin I will come here to eat.
