We were attracted by the menu boards outside rather than the décor, but after being seated at a table instead of benches near the babawe warmed to the modern metro station concept. We struggled a little to explain what we wanted as our Spanish is not great, but when our order came it was amazing. The house salad was served in a ring of cucumber strips with dresed leaves, prawns, tomatoes and guacamole dressing + other garnishes. The fish which we couldn't translate (possibly small pike) was white and very meaty and came with tempura vegetable. Breaded cured pork cutlet stuffed with cheese were accompanied with homemade fried scallop potato. All superb! Desert was a baked cheese cake with an almost savoury edge to the creamy flavour. At â¬30 for the food and two glasses of wine, a soft drink and water, Great Value. Service was excellent and very patient.

Placed in the heart of Zamora, right in the historical area, Restaurante Agape offers a whole different variety of culinary proposals. Both at the Bar and Restaurant areas you will find a great range of 'tapas', pizzas and pasta cooked following the tradi

Bar Caballero is a small, no frills, tapas and beer stop in central Zamora.Food is simple tapas, patatas stews etc and good Mahou beer. Staff are fine and it's great value for money. Worth dropping in for a beer and snack.

The visit to Laflaca Taverna was very enjoyable. We were a large group of colleagues, some from Portugal, and some from Zamora, that know all of the local gems. It is a great restaurant to relax and chill out after a long day's work. We had the menu de degustación, which was varied and very tasty, and catered to even the fussiest of some of my colleagues.

We never expected to find such fine restaurant in a small town like Zamora in an unpretentious locale. Everything was delicious, beautifully presented, Spanish cuisine but different from your usual dishes. Mr Meneses himself attended us in an unusual evening when he was short in staff. Prices were very reasonable. We donât hesitate to recommend this little gem!

We called in for a late evening drink and 'tapa' and were served high quality wines - the rosé was fabulous - and the tapas innovative, beautifully presented and delicious. The bill was very low so we returned for lunch the next day and had the 13,50⬠menu. It was excellent throughout. Again, very tasty, well presented and amazing value. We recommend it highly.

Restaurant âLasalâ.After we had finished our visit of the Old Town of Zamora, we went back to our hotel to refresh ourselves and to prepare us to have another visit to the restaurant in the evening. So we asked again the owner of the hotel some advice, and she indicated us the restaurant âLasalâ. This restaurant is located in the famous âCalle Los Herreros, 29â, this is a narrow street filled with restaurants and who starts at the âPlaza Mayorâ it is about 150 meters into the street on the left side, it had wooden barrels in front of the entrance. Here we had bread, olives and a plate with a tomato salad as starter, than we had steak, twice pie, two coffees and 4 beers. For all this fine food we have paid less than 30 ⬠for two persons. Typical location, very fine food, very friendly service, and once again our thanks for another very good recommendation by the owner of the Ares Hotel.

Being vegetarian in Spain can be challenging. This place is a godsend. it seems to be packed all the time. thats because it has the most delicious tapas I have had in a long time. you can opt for tapa for about 1.50⬠or racion for about 4â¬. Try the fried aubergine with salmorejo, the boletus mushroom croquettes and the grilled courgette with guacamole. outstanding!! My friend had tuna tartar which she said was amazing. yum yum

Dropped in for dinner and they looked after us brilliantly We had a salad starter which we shared and then we had steak and chips which was cooked exactly how we wanted The lady from th kitchen was very helpful over gluten free and the guys behind the bar are really helpful and recommended a great bottle of red wine which wasnât too expensive We sat in the bar afterwards and had coffee and brandyâs We would definitely return and it was good valueNot much English spoken but we love that anyway as itâs better practice for our Spanish

This was just off the main Plaza Mayor and was just opening for the evening around 7.00pm. All the tapas is cooked fresh to order on a small hot plate sprinkled with oil - great selection and fresh as a daisy! Good local red wine and, best of all, a great rock-focussed sound track on the Bose system ranging from the Clash to Clapton, Lou Reed and everything in between. So much nicer being in a tapas bar with music instead of the ubiquitous two TV's trying to out-compete each other on two separate channels. We were the only 2 non-Spanish in the place and left well fed, well rested and well drunk!
