Where do I even start? Loved everything about this place. The business ethos, module, the concept and finally the execution, everything perfect. I love the fact that everything is sourced from the farm or locally from another farmer they know. Everything cooked from scratch, nothing out of a jar from the supermarket. Having no menu but cooking what's in season or more like whats on the farm take guts. Having just the one day and one time to serve everyone again take guts. But when you have the best to serve, why wouldn't you have the guts? To add to this spectacular view, the decor and above all Andy as the host just puts this place on a big pedestal. It's a dining experience.

Oscars is located in the heart of McLaren Vale and prides itself on offering a relaxed dining experience while serving delicious and fresh food, accompanied with our local wines, beers and ciders. â Oscars offers an extensive Mediterranean style menu that
Oscars is not "fine dining", as some of the other reviewers might have expected. It is more in competition with the local pub, providing solid, hearty food with a friendly service. That's exactly what we were after. The flatbread was flat and not too yeasty nicely covered with rocket and pear. All ingredients were fresh and nicely presented. Service was a bit on the slow side but very friendly. And yes, we had as well the experience that after our mains we felt a bit left alone. The short blacks were however as they should be.

The truly good things in life are a convergence of influences that cannot be replicated, but rather should be savored, cherished, and shared. Such is the Star of Greece. Named after a shipwreck, Star of Greece guests will enjoy Mediterranean style of cuis
Booked months in advance to get into Star of Greece while holidaying with family locally for our wedding anniversary lunch. I really wanted to love it after reading and hearing so much about it and being recommended to go by so many locals. Letâs start with the setting, itâs hard to get a better spot than this one â perched on the cliff overlooking the stunning blue ocean. Unfortunately, our table was to the back of the restaurant away from the view and next to the door and counter so we didnât really get much of an opportunity to take in the view. I get it, not every table can have the best view and someone has to sit all the way back there, but it was a stunning and warm day when we visited and there were tables available on the balcony â I should have asked to move, but didnât thinking these must be booked, although they stayed available the entire time we were there for our long lunch and I wasnât pushing my luck with the staff â see the service comments later. The food was really good â we tried many of the seafood dishes â scallops, king fish, barramundi, whiting and squid â beside the other dishes we wouldnât go for the barra again â it was pretty dry unfortunately. The others were great, fresh and prepared with interesting and down right tasty flavours showcasing the seafood. The wine list was extensive and complimented the food perfectly. What let down the overall experience for us was the service. Our meals were pretty much thrown down on the table and then the wait staff walked away â no one explaining the dishes or letting us know what they were. We order soft drinks for the kids as a treat and asked them to come out with their meals, by the time their meals where dumped and the staff ran and then I managed to catch someoneâs eye to chase them up, the kids had finished their lunch. Glasses that we had used for our pre lunch drinks before ordering stayed empty on the side of our table the whole time just crying out for someone to take them back to the bar. We picked dishes to share and explained this when ordering expecting side plates with each course as is standard practice when sharing meals. First course was dumped and we werenât fast enough to ask for small plates so ended up using the kids side plates. Next course we knew the dump and run drill and were quick to ask, but it seemed like we were putting the staff out with this request. Overall we left feeling a bit disappointed which isnât fair really as the food was really very good. But coming off the back of an unexpectedly great experience at another restaurant that blew our minds, this just didnât stack up. Not sure if someone didnât show up for their shift or if this is standard practice for the staff but small tweaks with their service would have taken this dining experience from âmehâ to memorable.

Here you will find a unique and laid-back beachfront cafe with table service. Enjoy the extensive Mediterranean style menu, paired with craft beer, local wine or espresso coffee. Relax and unwind at Moana beach.
We chose this place as it was near our place of stay, near the beach and are opened for dinner at 5 pm. We parked our car opposite the DeepBlue Cafe and walked into the blue color building . Restaurant is cozy and warm on such a wet and cold evening . Service does give us some warm feeling too ( after reading some reviews of negative service) We have seafood basket , vegan curry , lamb roast and Goulash.Seafood basket is good except the fish taste not so fresh . Squid is soft and tender. Prawn is fine . Vegan curry is good with rice Would recommend if you are around the area.
