I generally like every cultureâs food, and from Istanbul Grill, I expected something just like Turkey-in between, I dunno, Greek gyros and souvlaki and middle-Eastern baba, kebab, hummus, etc. And thatâs kinda sorta what I got.I didnât expect such a clean, good looking place, very polite service, or the extreme high quality of the foods and their preparation.I ordered a platter, sort of kebab-like, all of which was good. But the star of the show arrived after: a dessert called Kunefe, and Turkish coffee. OMG.Kunefe is sort of in the realm of baklava and an Indian dessert, gulab jamun. A mix of wheatiness, nuttiness, cheesiness, and sweetness. Officially my favorite dessert. And I could not imagine it without the coffee, which is akin to an espresso, though made more like French press or pour over. Strong, but all of the bean and itâs roast in the mouth.I go at lunchtime, by myself, reading the news on my phone. Always enjoyable, and I look forward to my next visit!
My family has been trying out Mediterranean Restaurants lately. We enjoy Nate's on W. 25th, Aladdin's in Crocker Park & Istanbul Restaurant in Avon, Ohio. Mezzo was recommended by a co- worker stating "They are the best". Well, we're we VERY disappointed. First of all, you order from the counter & pick up your meal. We ordered the hummus, the pita bread was cold, out of the refrigerator & hard. The Chicken Shish Tawook rolled sandwich was horrible tasting to me. It did not have the usual garlic sauce others serve & there was a TINY amount of pulled chicken instead of the usual chicken cubes. (Mostly all bread). Very disappointing . There were no dishes & we ate off of the plastic wrap from the pita bread wrapper. No water served. You must purchase bottled water or beverages from from the cooler. You need to clean your table yourself after your meal & place your dishes in a pan marked"dirty dishes" near the trash can. I would not recommend Mezza. I would highly recommend the others listed. I usually don't write negative comments but, we were very disappointed.

I know I can always rely on Alladin's to have really fresh, great tasting food. I do not visit this location as often as I do the one located in Boardman, OH but I have good experiences here as well. I also appreciate that they have an extensive menu and many vegetarian options. The dessert case is also amazing!

Got a table right away and the server was attentive. Everyone liked their picks. I had that lamb chops cooked to perfection. Meat was so tender. My only wish that they would have used some garlic on the chops. But that is a personal preference. The dolmades were very good and with the greek yogurt on the bottom yummy! We also ordered the beets very good, saganaki missed that they can't flame it in front of you and it was salty. Another in our group ordered the Piperies Yemistes he said it was very good. My other friend wished for a few more vegetarian picks. All in all the food was good but it can get pricey.150.00 for 3 people and no drinks!

Joe's is known for its large portions and its almost endless menu choices. You may have to wait for a table but, no matter how hungry you are, you'll probably leave with leftovers. I've never tried the desserts but they look fabulous. Joe's also does a BIG take-out business

My mom and I really enjoyed all the vegetarian options here, including the spinach pie, pickles and warm pita bread. She loved the kibbe. The staff was very friendly too.

Love the hummus and the salada is excellent! I suggest mudjadara - sounds really odd but the flavor profile is great! The ice tea here - several choices - is usually very good. The desserts are hit and miss - usually seem "old" - like they have been sitting for a while so I would skip dessert. All the other food is fresh and delicious!Hello! Thank you so much for taking the time to review our restaurant. We appreciate your recommendations and feedback and will be sure to share this information with our operations team. We hope to serve you again soon!

We just love it here! Happy hour is fun with different martinis, & we love the friendly bartenders! Sat in the dining room this weekend and can't say enough about the attentive waitstaff. Nice wine selection, loved the shrimp, sauteed calamari appetizers, and at least 4 fresh fish specials. Two couples & we both shared two fish entrees, which were kindly split on our plates for us. We loved the halibut! Will be back again soon!
