Find out what Mediterranean restaurants to try in Western Cape. South Africa’s most popular tourist destination offers the urban thrills of Cape Town, its adjacent wine country and an aura of the rich political history of South Africa. The Overberg's perfect whale-watching perches provide excitement of a different nature. The Garden Route's lakes and forests and the Klein Karoo's ostrich-farming towns and vineyards present another take on the Cape. For extra kicks, try bungee jumping or cage-diving among Great Whites.

A warm welcome, all from the staff get a thumbs up, in a cosy place which we found via TripAdvisor. The food was good the wine too. One advise for improvement. The tables are tiny already for two guests. If you order a bottle of white wine as we did, it needs to be chilled. Placing the cooling on the floor close to the guests feet is not suitable. Consider a table mountable wine bucket or at least a wine chiller stand.

In the Heart of Knysna, enjoy French Cuisine by French Chefs in a cosy, relaxed but intimate place. Only 30 seats, so booking is essential
The entire experience with Rèmy and Cathy was fantastic. They engaged us throughout the evening, along with the very friendly wait staff. We had the baked Camembert with roasted apples and walnuts, served in filo pastry, followed by duck confit with cranberry sauce. The rest of their menu caters for all tastes, with their specialty being Cote de bouef. The wine selection compliments the menu, and is fairly priced.

Really fin night out with great entertainment by the signing waiters. The food is great too, we had the bread plate (excellent romanesco dip) and meat plate (great fillet). I would recommend this for a group night out - birthdays, celebrations etc. Sing along, dance on the tables, drink too much, go have some fun!

The Corner Bistro has a tradition Mediterranean meals. Prepared freshly by our Master Chef. All ingredients are fresh and preparation is done on a daily basis, providing one of the best Mediterranean style restaurants in South Africa, with great atmospher
We stopped at the Corner Bistro with no particular expectation. Simply because on a Sunday afternoon not much was opened. And Oh my God. Best pizza ever. Huge! But so so thin. It was delectable. Same with the home made apple and almond cake. Our waiter Zain was a lovely attentive young man and the owners, a delightful German couple, even came to talk to us and asked if we liked the pizze. Clearly! Our plates were empty. The owner and chef imports his flour from Italy no less. Everything was just lovely down to the mini amaretto biscuit with our coffee.

Had an enjoyable lunch with the great service of Leticia and owner Olivier. Leticiaâs friendliness coupled with Olivierâs attentiveness to details really made our lunch taste even better. We ordered the Duo of Tuna, Brandy Bisque Soup, Prawn Risotto and Spicy seafood spaghetti. Everything was delicious but my wife and I were exceptionally blown away by the Duo of Tuna! It was so amazing and concluded that no other restaurant will be able to do this. A must try if you ever visit them! Will definitely return to this restaurant if I ever get to visit Capetown again!è¿éçæå¡å¾å¥½ãä¸è¥¿ä¹ççå¾å¥½å! ææºä¼ä¸å®è¦å°è¯!

It was Heritage Day....and we walked here from Company Gardens. Even arrived before it's 6:30 PM opening and Jane was MOST cordial.Liked the atmosphere...sort of funky......our waiter was Simon and he was terrific! The complimentary starter was delicious. the Jordan House Wine "hit the spot". My bengal Fish Curry did NOT measure up to the curry at Seabreeze, but that's OK and hubby had the RUMP in blue cheese and garlic sauce. Superb. However, Jane, the portion of wok veggies that came w/the rump could certainly be MORE ample. Portion of wok veggies MUCH too small.Had a great conversation with the couple at the table next to us.Dinner with tip................R 668. By the time we left most tables were occupied!

Called in to Carola Ann's for a quick lunch hoping to find something on the menu that wasn't pizza or burgers. Opted for the roasted vegetable dish which was absolutely delicious. Specials included a huge slice of home made quiche with salad which also went down a treat. Travelling in a group on a fixed schedule so unable to go back but looked like it would also be a great little place to stop for coffee and cake - the muffins on the counter were definitely calling to me!

Barrydale is a very beguiling place, studded with fascinating diversions around every corner - but on reflection this neighbourhood restaurant would be reason enough alone to travel all the way out here .... From wherever you may be!First impressions prompted a smile, which I dont believe left my face all evening. Charming gardens, cats with attitude, toasty fire, cheerfully lamplit homely and comfortable dining area. The owner greets and hosts you personally, attentive throughout, taking you through menu options in detail. (NB plenty of choices for those on restricted diets.) We relished our starters of Turkish Fritters and roasted aubergines, and congratulated ourselves too on our mains choices of Lamb Kleftike and Bobotie - generous, perfect and accompanied by absolutely delicious vegetables. We shared a rose ice cream dessert, which was every bit as special as previous reviewers have noted. I also shared a previous reviewer's appreciation of the open kitchen being comfortingly serene ... none of the crashing and cussing you get on TV cookshows - almost as if cooking for guests is a relaxing pleasurable activity.Thank you for a memorable evening with exemplary hospitality and such interesting delicious food.
