Find out what Mediterranean restaurants to try in Wells. The name Wells comes from the city's three wells dedicated to St. Andrew. Now there's a fun factoid to fill up your next awkward silence. In England's smallest city, you won't find the big summer crowds of nearby Glastonbury. Instead, you'll have more than enough room to sight-see as you please. And there are plenty of youth clubs to entertain the kiddies while you wander. The cathedral in Wells is the landmark attraction, but also check out the nearby Bristol Zoo Gardens and International Helicopter Museum.

Great little place in narrow side street. We had booked ahead but tables were available. Nice local waiter but the owners are Greek and it shows. We had perhaps the best tsatziki and calamari ever. Specials were stifado and kleftiko - both of which were superb. Both white and red house wine were very good. Excellent value and would go again when in the city.

We ate here on a recent trip to Shepton Mallet. We hadnât booked, and combing through Tripadvisor reviews, this seemed to be the best bet in town. Although it was a Saturday night, it was not busy, which was a shame as the place is on the large side so consequently it lacked atmosphere. It was not the best of starts as it took 20 minutes for someone to come and take our order â service was glacial slow at times â but the menu looked promising. Portions are definitely on the generous size, so eating a starter and main was a bit of a struggle â certainly no room for dessert. Personally would prefer smaller portions and prices, as it was a little on the expensive side. However food quality was good, my calamari starter was crisp and fresh, followed by the saltimbocca â the only let down was the side of veg which had no flavour, and certainly needed more potatoes and less carrots. Overall though not a bad find

We had less time in Glastonbury than we had hoped, so I checked Trip Advisor and booked with only a couple of hours' notice. The place was busy, has a good atmosphere, varied clientele, friendly and efficient service and a good drinks list. The food was plentiful and enjoyable. My partner thoroughly enjoyed the burger and I the entree-sized Meze board, which was too much as the main meal for me. It was filled to overflowing with delicious dips, spreads, veggies and bread.Despite this, I managed to fit in an Affogato, one of my favourite after-dinner options, which I only tried as I had never seen it offered with chocolate ice cream before.I enjoyed it very much and found the combination of chocolate ice cream and Frangelico delightful. The best meal we had on our first trip to Devon and Cornwall.

I eat here as often as I can. Especially with my daughters (age 5 and 8). The food is delious. The service is exceptional! There's a wide choice of classic Italian dishes. Unlike the chain restaurants, this is good traditional Italian food. Everything is made fresh - you can see in to the kitchen. My children are always made so welcome. They are fussed by the staff and given balloons. Sat outside on a sunny afternoon with a glass of wine and a pizza Gordon 1921, I couldn't be happier!!
