Steeped in history, Vancouver is the oldest city in Washington. Once the largest western outpost of the British Hudson's Bay Company, where supplies and food were bartered in the 1800s, it was closed in 1860 as Americans took over commerce. The outpost was later recreated as the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site. For more history, check out the Pearson Air Field, the oldest operating airfield in the West, where vintage aircraft are displayed at the Pearson Air Museum. If adventure is your bag, Vancouver is the perfect base for day trips to the Columbia River Gorge, the breathtakingly beautiful 70-mile river stretch that cuts through the Cascade Mountains, or Mount St. Helens, the site of the famous volcano, both of which offer a slew of outdoor activities. For calmer pastimes, cruise the picturesque river in the Columbia Gorge riverboat, or visit Beacon Rock, the world's second largest monolith, where a walking trail leads to spectacular panoramic views.

Having lived and traveled in the Middle East and Mediterranean regions of Europe, I often find myself yearning for some authentic foods from the area. A visit with friends in Vancouver surprisingly turned this place up. What a delightful find! I look forward to visiting my friends and this restaurant again!

Went in for lunch last week only to find out they have added a number of new menu items to their offerings. We tried a couple of the new kebab plates and they were delicious! I had the Trio combo plate with Kafta, lamb and chicken skewers and couldn't even finish it. We also tried the Veggie Kebab plate and it was also excellent. They also now have a new garlic sauce that isn't spicy, but has plenty of flavor. We will be back more often now because of these new menu items.

I'd heard several friends from work talk about this place so I thought I'd try it. I have been to Jerusalem in Israel several times and the decor was somewhat reminiscent. It was nicely done and clean, with plenty of tables which slowly filled up as lunchtime went along. There were quite a few options on the menu. I ordered some hummus and flatbread which was quite good. Then the Greek Salad was the best I've ever had, with very tasty chicken, and lots of good vegetables. And there was enough to take home for lunch the next day, which is always a plus! The service was pretty slow -- there was only one server and it got difficult to get to all of us as the place filled up. But I definitely recommend the food for those who like Mediterranean.
