Historically part of Northumberland, the modern town of Tynemouth includes North Shields and Cullercoats and had a 2011 population of 67,519. It is administered as part of the borough of North Tyneside, but until 1974 was an independent county borough, including North Shields, in its own right. It had a population of 17,056 in 2001. The population of the Tynemouth ward of North Tyneside was at the 2011 Census 10,472.

Dined at this restaurant twice this year and enjoyed great food. The Early Bird Menu is superb value and is available until 6.30. The Penne al Salmone is very good. Save room for the sweet course as they are yummie. The service on my first visit was good, however on our latest visit there was only a waiter and waitress working and they were clearly under pressure which resulted in over a 2 hour visit. The beer barrel needed changing and they had neither the time or the knowlege to do it resulting in 7 guys without a drink for 20 minutes. bottles came to the rescue. If you have plenty of time give the food here a go. You wont be disappointed.

Just nipped in after school run and I will 100% be nipping in more often bacon sandwich was to die for cooked to perfection hardly any fat lovely taste and quality. Bread bun was also delicious ! Black Americano to go with again a very very good cup of coffee ! Yum definitely be revisiting soon!See you soon.

Me and my partner attend this restaurant about once a month maybe more and everytime the food is brilliant that goes without saying. However today we visited 08/07/19 and the waiting service was terrible 20mins after seated before we were asked for drinks, then another 10mins before ordering food.To top things off the menu said peroni lager £4.40Then it stated beer/lager £3.80 I opted for the cheaper option to be told to only lager available is only the peroni charged at £4.40 unless I wanted Guinness which is not a lager I feel this was a way to force me into the higher price of lager rather than the £3.80Also the happy hour states on a board it runs all night Sunday to Thursday, when a couple asked to use the happy hour they were told it has ended, at this time is wasn't even 18:30 the waiting staff clearly over charging decent customers, who knows if there keeping the over charge or what as normally when we attend the owner is on site, but this day he was not. Very possibly the last time I visit food amazing however the service a scam

We had not booked but popped in here on Bank Holiday Sunday. It is a very spacious restaurant. We were shown to a table quickly and provided with menus. Our order was taken promptly and the main arrived equally quickly and all (4) agreed that they were very good. Decided to have a dessert, what a Menu!!!, There must have been nearly 20 to choose from. I changed my mind several time. Then they arrived they too were disgusting (ly) delicious.Great food great service great prices. What more do you want?

Nestled amongst the many restaurants on the popular Ocean Road is the Salash. This was my first visit during restaurant week. We opted for the £7.95 menu. The food is amazing all washed down with efess beer. Lovely atmosphere with great service . Will be back

We originally booked a table for two and ended up changing it to a table of 5 or more than happy to accommodate.We ate here on a Friday night, the food was of good variety and excellent quality.Would definitely recommend to eat here is looking for a nice Italian meal.

Finally got round to visiting after hearing so many good reports.Great food and Lovely staff,We ordered a load of mezze including flatbreads, fattoush, lamb merguez cutlets, falafel, prawns, pork souvlaki and two types of yummy crispy fried potatoes - all thoroughly enjoyed by the four of us.Including drink this came to a reasonable £94.We canât wait to go back!!

Locally well known and popular place. Authentic Turkish cuisine. Lamb Guvec, I had was sumptuous and so tasty. Large portion. Bayleaf rolled starters were superb. Service was excellent and starters as well as main course arrived within 10-15 mins of each other. Our 2 and half year old grandaughter was delighted with Turkish rice and fries! Certainly worth a visit. This small restaurant is just off the sea front. Inside it is very peasant as are the lovely Man and two ladies who took turns to serve us. The young lady brought chunks of garlic bread while we waited for our order. It was not long to wait and food was beautifully cooked. Portions were good too . I had the Genovese with chicken and leeks and close to have this with penne. My husband had a large dish of cannelloni which he said was excellent. We shared a salad. My husband had a Greek beer and I the house rose . Both were good. As we paid we were offered a complimentary Amoretto. That was a nice touch. This is a nice place to warm up on a chilly North East evening.

Called in without a reservation on a Friday night and, although very busy, we were seated very quickly at an upstairs table. The food is excellent. Weâve been to Spain many times and had tapas regularly but can honestly say that we havenât enjoyed tapas as much as we did at Ora. We had calamari, king prawns in tempura batter, hummus and other dishes and all were delicious - and at a very good price. Well worth a visit. We shall definitely be returning when next in Northumberland.
