Improvised lunch with my wife during a 3-day trip in the beautiful region of Anduze.L'O Ã la bouche was recommended to us by a local shop-owner who said they were only using fresh ingredients from the market. The restaurant is located in the centre of the town, in a predominantly pedestrian area, scattered with many tourist shops. The layout and the decoration are pretty simple but the overall impression was good and clean. We were there on a very hot day and several fans were put around the tables, desperately trying to cool down an overheated atmosphere.Service was very friendly and efficient, despite the fact that the place was packed at lunch time. The daily menu was short (3 starters/3 main courses/3 desserts) but diversified and really appetizing. We indeed found the food not only very fresh and tasty but pretty innovative and surprisingly refined considering the listed price of the menu (around 25EUR for 3 courses). My wife had fish and I had meat and both were perfectly cooked and served with several tasty side dishes in small portions. My dessert (chocolate "fondant" with "piment d'espelette" and cream was truly original and very pleasant). We did congratulate the Chef for the quality of his offering.I do recommend this restaurant if you happen to visit Anduze. Value for money is very far above usual standards.

This restaurant was recommended to us as we love good fish but it is not easy to find. The restaurant does not look very appealing from outside but it has a modern and trendy interior with an open kitchen. They have a lunch menu starting at just 16⬠for the main course, 19⬠for main + dessert or starter + main or 22⬠for a 3 meal course. This is worth every Euro. The quality of the food is excellent and served in a very nice way. They give you time to enjoy lunch and are very friendly. They also have main course from the menu and the bouillabaisse is just awesome. They serve an excellent rosé wine at just 20⬠a bottle.I will definitely go back when around and would recommend this to everybody to do also!Dear DavyDS, We are glad to read your review and recommandation about Le Petit Phare! Our entire team do his best every day to satisfy the guests, cooking the best products at your view, with the opened kitchen area.We really appreciate to know that we will serve you back in the future!Best regards,The Managers

Here, you will take a lunch in a 400 years old green oak shade, in the middle of a garden, surrounded by the rocks, a spring and cicadas.. This is only an outside restaurant, serving fresh and local food, directly from Producers. We use mostly organic ing
The setting is beautiful & the food looks great - unfortunately it stops there. We went early evening as itâs the only place in walking distance of where we were staying. One of our starters for â¬8 was a bowl of mixed leaves topped with edible flowers - one of which we were warned tastes very bitter. No point in using edible flowers if they actually donât taste good or somehow compliment the food surely?Lamb for main was tough & tasteless with no seasoning and served with a very sloppy bowl of courgette, similarly sloppy bowl of ratatouille and green beans with no seasoning. Even the accompanying bread was dry and tough. To put into perspective, this cost us â¬80 for two, both eating two courses and sharing a bottle plus one extra glass of wine. We had an incredible 3 course meal with a bottle of wine in the heart of Montpellier for â¬72. Very sad to read you had a bad exerience at our place as it is not our purpose. No offense but as you evaluated us with severity, I would give my point of view to avoid deceiving people with same expectations and comfort the others. It is a pity you came by us at random when there is a two square meters panel in English at entrance to explain we cook with simplicity organic fresh food from local farmers. We never pretend being a sophisticated restaurant with a fancy Chief and its name branded on its plates. Our philosophy is not to alter original taste of products with extravagant dressings. We do use spices as you could experience in your pakoras with personnality but moderation and we have a traditionnal Mediteranean cooking with no cream and milk but olive olive and no "fond de sauce".You were served very same bread, very same vegetable and very same lamb than other people enjoyed, included the other British people same evening who do take lamb and assiette vegetale and come at the end to compliment. To put some accuracy on your perspective, your 83⬠meal included 32⬠of biodinamyc Zelige Caravent A fleur de peau 2016 wine (bottle + 2 extra glasses) which (you can check on internet) is sold around 22⬠in wine shops and 24⬠in my restaurant.A bargain when you know Restaurant habits in France. Finally as you compared, and knowing French cost of legal hours working, if you enjoyed a 72⬠3 course dinner plus wine, let me tell you either it is a philantropic restaurant, or you got cheaper industrially frozen vegetable from Hungary buy in any cash and carry and elegantly dressed , or mostly rice wheat and potatoes.

This restaurant is worth a visit. In the nice setting next to the Chateau Florian the Chene Blanc has served us with a very pleasant diner. For the 24⬠it was an excellent meal. Also the Pic Saint Loup was an excellent red wine.

Restaurants like this are getting harder to find in France in my opinion. They serve a great value fixed menu at lunch Mon to Wed (if I remember rightly), no choice of starter or main but a choice of pudding and 25cl of wine included. Our meal was delicious, the service was friendly and helpful. We ate on the shady terrace which was delightful. We returned and ate again another day and it was equally good. Super!

The restaurant ice-cream maker La Servane welcomes you of Tuesday in Sunday noon from 12 am till 1:30 pm and in the evening from Thursday till Saturday from 19 hours.
Visited Sauve on Sunday and parked near this Bar/Restaurant....was a very hot day and decided to pop here for drinks before exploring Sauve...there were 6 of us.Two men were already sitting outside drinking beers when we went to sit down....we were then told it was actually closed and the proprietor was cleaning tables, watering plants etc. We went to walk away but were asked what we actually wanted ....to eat or just drink? They were very accommodating and said don't go if it's drinks that's not an issue. We were served drinks with a smile and after watering his flowers the guy turned on the misters over the seating area which kept us cool with a fine misty spray of water....couldn't ask for more. Finished our drinks and headed off. Passed by an hour and a half later and it was all closed up....They are actually closed for business on a Sunday and Monday but were willing to serve us and put a few more Euro's in their till...whilst they were having a clear up.Thank you....a cold beer was just what we needed!

OK, I'm maybe biased because I live in Sauve, but the 'Troquet' is a regular weekend meeting place for myself and friends. The menu changes all the time, but there is always a substantial meat dish, vegetarian items and tapas type choices. The young owners seem to conjure up a special atmosphere, with art exhibitions and concerts in the spacious back room. In Summer the terrace is always full, so get there early to ensure a place. You might see some of Sauve's many musicians, including myself, having an impromptu session in the open air. Many of the players are pros. Credit cards aren't accepted. Something for every taste and budget.

From the greeting to the surprisingly good value for money I cannot fault a thing. Lovely setting serving delicious, fresh, modern cuisine. They also have a good simple childrenâs menu understanding that kids like simple flavours. Excellent.

This is a very pleasant place that takes itself seriously and does everything right - except serve memorable food. It was very odd - dish after dish arrived looking exactly like the real thing (including a whole roast chicken with a carving knife stuck promisingly in its perfect golden breast) only to fail to deliver in the mouth. That chicken, for example, was dull and bland. The place is busy, so it must be doing something right - but not for us that lunchtime.
