Reviews on Mediterranean food in Sarria, Province of Lugo, Spain. Sarria is a municipality in the province of Lugo, northwestern Spain, in the autonomous community of Galicia. Sarria is the most densely populated town on the French Way in Galicia, with 13,700 inhabitants. It is head of the region and a popular starting point for the Camino de Santiago; many pilgrims choose Sarria because the distance from this point to Santiago allows them to cover the necessary kilometers to reach the Compostela. à unha terraza-bar que abre dende as 15h ata as 3 da mañán. Estivemos alà un sábado as 18h. HabÃa moita xente nova e pandilliñas. A parte da barra onde púñanche de beber tiñan coma un DJ onde iban pondo música. Demasiada alta para a hora que era. Era incómodo estar alà porque non se podÃa falar. Rematamos rápido as nosas consumicións e marchamos. Este local ten un rollo pub.

Having arrived into Sarria at lunch time ahead of my friends I decided to try this restaurant because I like trying out local 'non-touristy' eateries and it was close to our lodgings. It was very busy and well patronised by local customers when I entered. The bar counter and the seats beside it were full. No problem, I was found a seat in the main dining area. In addition to a full menu, it also had the expected Menu del Dia, which was three courses (with choices) plus bottle of wine for only â¬9. Very enjoyable it was. I had to get help finishing the wine!!Our group having walked around the town that evening, and having sampled some tapas & drinks in other establishments, decided to give O Descanso a try for our main evening meal. They were not disappointed. We had a very enjoyable meal, with a selection of good local Spanish food. Service was friendly and efficient. Value excellent. It may not be the most attractive of restaurants and is not in the main tourist area of the town but strongly recommended if you like the 'local' touch.

Iâm sitting eating desert in this lovely little restaurant. I was told that as you enter Galicia the food gets better. It was no lie. We had stopped off for a glass of wine but decided to stay based on the gorgeous tapas presented with the wine and the great service from Josef. An incredible menu del dia for â¬9. A bruschetta and ham starter followed by fried chicken and chips plus desert. What a treat to eat properly prepared food from a chef who wants to please. Do yourself a favor and eat here. And try the great wines on offer.

Had dinner here one night while walking the Camino de Santiago. Location is on the Malecon by the river. One pizza was plenty for the two of us to share. Add a cold beer and it was a wonderful meal for under $15!Excellent service, tasty pizza with toppings for any taste-including french fries! If you're jonesing for a pizza, you can't go wrong here.

Restaurant in Sarria for Pilgrims and Neighbors, Specialty in Pizzas, Italian Dishes, Market Cuisine and Galician meats, we have accommodation in Hostel
My wife and I were walking the Camino Trail in May and dined at this restaurant whilst staying in Sarria on the recommendation of our hosts at our hotel. We went there as they advertised a Pilgrims menu on their web site, but when we sat down and asked, the waiter said that was no longer available. We had a pizza to share to begin with, then my wife had a salad and I had pasta, which we both enjoyed. Our waiter had a cold, so he was sniffing and sneezing the whole time he was serving us.And, it wasnât cheap. 33 euro for a shared first course and a second course each and wine was quite expensive we thought and we wondered why there were hardly any people eating there! Not recommended.

We ordered 9 dishes incl steak, prawns, octopus, white asparagus, clams, melon con jambon. Everything was good. Very reasonably priced. Only slight problem was inability to communicate with waitress. We had asked for leftover steak to be packed to take away but it ended up being thrown away.
