Reviews on Mediterranean food in Safi, Doukkala-Abda Region, Morocco. This coastal city is one of the oldest in Morocco and naturally has a rich history. It is a big fishing port and a beautiful coastline near the less industrialized areas. The fishing port is definitely something to take a look at. Many vendors at the markets sell cool pottery, so have a look there.
Things to do in Safi
Petit resto en plein centre de la ville de safi. Une carte assez varié on y trouve des pâtes, burger, nuggets et pizza.J'ai pris un chicken burger qui était très bon accompagné de frites et boisson au prix de 40dhs.
We had a lovely time in this restaurant. Overall, the service, the food, deserts were really good. I can recommend you to try any type of fish or sea food, which was really fresh and prepared nicely. In addition, belly dancer and music group Hasba were great.
In the desolate village of Souiria you find ranch blue. Fresh juices and reasonable food. Nothing special at a good price.

Exclusive and personalized atmosphere.. we were treated like VIPs and the diner was awsome... itâs a matter of discovering und penetrating the soul of moroccan gastronomy. Privileged relashionship with the Chef during the diner, which was actually very pleasant! Very nice concept and makes you feel really home!I highly recommend.. Be patient to get a reservation but it's worth it to wait!

Very good place to stop to have have lunch or cafe with great views to the ocean. Highly recommand this local restaurant!.

We were on the road from Essaouira to Oualidia on the Moroccan coast and passing through Safi when we decided it was time to eat. We passed through the phosphate factories....nothing good...passed through the city centre....nothing good......just after we passed the port itself.....bam up popped a small collection of fish restaurants on the left. Our guide said all looked fine so we parked. Please avoid the guy who is trying to get you into his place (he was persistent) and go to the 1st one on the right. We could tell it was going to be good because it was full of ......(this is not meant to be sexist)...women! The staff were inviting and friendly and the place was clean and packed full. Once seated we ordered a triple platter of random fish and calamari. Wow....so fresh and a perfect lunch choice. Hope you get there sometime!

We were planning to have something light for lunch but found ourselves talking to one of the friendly locals (as you do here in Morocco) and ended up here for lunch. This place is just outside the medina and looks like a large number of the cafes here, low key with plastic tables and chairs outside. Note the pretty mosaics by the entry! This is our second trip to Morocco and in the interests of cooking research we are sampling lots of tagines to perfect our ones back home. We tried two here: fish and meat. The fish came on a layer of spicy potato, tomato, olives and onions. Lovely harissa flavours. The meat tagine was not one of the standard meat and fruit variety. Wonderfully aromatic, it was packed with lots of vegetables and hidden tender pieces of meat. As always there was plenty of bread offered to mopping up every last bit of juice. We are yet to have bad bread anywhere here. These tagines were not rich or fatty as some can be. These are the best tagines on our trip so far and are not to be missed.

I stayed one night at this beautiful place. Room was beautiful, with a view of the sea. There was an overpowering smell in the bathroom, which prompted me to skip a shower. Thank God the smell was gone the next day, it was worse than a tannery! Matress was quite hard. I think it was old as opposed to firm. Towels were ancient and very thin.I didn't say anything because I was staying only for the one night, otherwise I would have complained. Pity, because the place is beautiful.Had dinner at the restaurant, food was good and as was service.
