The mountain village of Tavertet is apparently rather sleepy in the evening so we had a problem finding a restaurant open. Can Nogué was, in theory, closed for a special party, but very kindly let us in and looked after us extremely well. Had the grilled lamb chops and a wonderfully tender steak with baked potatoes - delicious. The owner's recommendation of a local red wine was an excellent choice !

Once we realised the distance this restaurant was from our campsite we almost didn't go.Tavertet is a the last stop town on a glorious mountain road. A beautiful practically desserted town, this place has a veritable gem in the "Faves Comptades" The Six courses dinner (42 Euros each) - was a pure delight - the food was creative, beautiful and delicious. The two guys (one waits, the other cooks) were very friendly and very keen to speak and talk with their customers. The food, location and hospitality made this one of the most memorable meals I've had for a very long time - a perfect evening!

The lunch was acceptable, but could have been better, especially the desserts. Fixed price menu of 20â¬. Only serve red wine, no white. The lady who took our reservation was a bit fearsome to say the least. We had booked for 2.30 but were made to wait till 3pm.The hostal and restaurant is very dated and in need of a facelift!

Everything about this restaurant made our tour of Rupit even more rewarding. Able to split roasted vegetables with huge salad with walnuts, goat cheese (actually delicious), tomatoes, olives & 2 fresh squeezed orange juices for around 20 euros. I am more vegan oriented, & this was perfect but plenty of options for lamb, duck, chicken etc with affordable prices, excellent English, cleanliness, all smiles, & FAST service for a sit down meal. Family operation.

Returning from a beautiful hike we sat down on the terrace. While taking a seat the waitress was cleaning another table â and disappeared....We waited...... and waited...... and waited some more time.....and eventually left..... Rupit is worth while a visit â and small cafes and restaurants throughout the old town had happy guests. Coincidence or logical consequence that the Restaurant Albert was empty???

This is a review for the restaurant, not the hotel ran on same premises. Rather big, canteen style, not that cosy large restaurant space, with amazing mountain village views if you sit close to the windows. Service very poor and messy, takes forever to place an order, leave alone for food to arrive. My small green salad bland/undressed, beans that came with sausage, completely unseasoned, watery, with brine coming onto the plate, all very unpleasant. The sausage, the only half decent tasting thing served to me that day - at least it tasted of something - was well overcooked and dry. I would avoid this restaurant. 2 stars only because of the lovely views out of the windows, and local artist being profiled, with his paintings on the restaurant walls.

We were in a group plus a dog. The welcome was genuinely friendly, particularly from our bubbly Colombian waitress . At 24⬠for 3 courses, plus an amuse-bouche, the menu offered a good choice of rural Spanish food, simple ,well cooked and interesting. This is the kind of place you want to revisit ,and stay over in this charming hotel .I shall be back.
