Most Popular Mediterranean food in Rome, Lazio, Italy

Find out what Mediterranean restaurants to try in Rome. From ancient monuments and frocked priests to fantastic shops and avant-garde architecture, Rome's neighborhoods are as diverse as its multimillennial history. The Eternal City is a mosaic of pocketed areas vying to show off their must-sees - whether it’s haute couture or street art, fabulous food or medieval architecture. What makes Rome unique is not just the "open-air museum" lifestyle but the life itself. Every day, in every corner and every piazza, Rome smoothly juggles tradition, history, and 21st century change.

Ate here on Sunday night as a family. It’s in a great, vibrant area of Rome with lots of eateries - away from the big tourist areas but definitely worth a visit. The food and atmosphere were really good but what made our evening really great were Marylu and Luigi who were great fun ... and the limoncello was good too!

We saw the good reviews and it did not disappoint! The hardest part was choosing which of the Panini’s to have, such a great and interesting list of choices! Both of ours were delicious and great value for money in a popular location! 10/10 would recommend you making your way here when in Rome!

We went today there and the food was absolutely amazing! I had some pasta with clams (10 euro) and my boyfriend lasagna (8 euro). They were both on the menu of the day and it was the best choice we could have made. And then, we got an extraordinary tiramisu (I have no words to describe it - I do not usually eat tiramisu, but this one... I could not stop ). I think we are going back for sure. They also have very good artizanal beer (5 euro). A must try!

Armando e il Conte

Hostaria con cucina tipica romana e sfiziosità senza allontanarsi troppo dai sapori base e tradizionali.

Reviewed By romeboy

Hidden in an alley off the beaten path (but super close to the metro) Armando occupies the site of an early 19th-century Osteria that has pretty much been serving food and wine ever since (though under different ownerships and incarnations). Armando updated the historical venue with taste and designed the menu with plenty of references to the traditional Roman cuisine. Many osteria dishes are present, though reinvented and enlightened. Contemporary dishes and new creations are the most interesting, and all of them are enough to allow a small group to eat them as tapas in lieu of a multiple-course meal. The wine list needs work and we hope it will be fully redesigned in consultation with an expert, external eye. Hence four stars rather than five. CordialmenteArmando

The food here was delicious - it’s quite a limited menu, but the food is still really good! There’s a lovely relaxed vibe here, and the ambience/atmosphere of the restaurant makes it an enjoyable evening! Also, I haven’t been anywhere yet with such a wide section of red wines - so if you enjoy a glass of red I would definitely recommend. The waiting staff were also attentive and helpful when we had questions about the menu. Would definitely recommend if you are visiting Rome!

La Dogana Food

Reviewed By zigno2009

A multi-ethnic restaurant, with many possibilities and various kind of kitchens and food. Very crowded and very well organized, it is like a food factory chain. The quality of food can't be excellent therefore, but nonetheless it is tasty and well cooked. Special place, very kind personnel. In the rainy days the floor is quite slippery: watch out!. The formula is "all you can eat", but you have to pay for any beverage, considered as an extra. If you have a normal sized stomach, it is a bit expensive (more than 16 euro per person).
