We stayed in the Albergo Capovilla which is attached to the restaurant although the restaurant is run separately. It is not possible to charge the cost of ones meal to ones room! We booked in for dinner (booking recommended especially at weekends) and met at the dining room entrance by a very friendly Head Waiter/Manager (never did find out what his position was. Although we both speak Italian we had to have some parts of the menu explained as the terminology used was a bit vague. Having said that what we got was (I thought) excellent although the dishes were a little over-elaborate which seems to be the thing these days. We were given a tray of tapas type/amuse bouches before the meal. We chose a bottle of a local white which proved to be the perfect choice for our meal. Service was slick and done properly; no slapping the plate down in front of the diner, just placed carefully so everything lined up and the logos were aligned properly;y. Very well done and, to me, quite impressive. Recommended.

The excellent restaurant view the valley offers the pleasure of getting lost in a variety of flavors typical of regional cuisine, Delicious fresh pasta dishes, succulent dishes of our game, accompanied by local wines or a wide range of fine wines, conclud
We enjoyed the perfect dinner with very prepared personnel and a great atmosphere. We tasted the buffet first (veggies and fresh green), then we had local dishes: foiade (typical fresh pasta) and pappardelle with mushrooms, meat with polenta and local dessert (a cake with figues, choco chips and corn). We finished with Lemon-grapefruit-mango sorbet. Prices are good and wines are excellent with a very good choice. We really experienced love for the territory and love for guests. Every detail is studied and well set, mixing old and new, tradition and innovation.

This is a classy restaurant. Set in the heart of the beautiful high town of Bergamo, it is a place for romantic dinners or a relaxed meeting of close friends or business colleagues. So when eight, thirsty English golf tourists crash through the door, it rather took the waiter by surprise. Not that we were loud but we were thirsty and we do enjoy a glass of wine followed by another glass of wine as we are studying a menu, which incidentally is terrific here, because this is Lombardian food and cooking very much at its zenith. So, after a while up came the first, crisp bottle of dry Lombardian white which did not stay long in the glass. Sadly it had not occurred to our waiter to recognise that our group were here to have a good time so we needed our stocks replenishing rapidly and were quite happy to pour out our own wine rather than him serve us.However that is the only criticism other than my main course, a perfectly cooked and flavoursome piece of pork that had been slow cooked over 20 hours, could have been hotter.Otherwise the food was superb, with the glorious casoncelli, a stuffed pasta filled with a sage sauce, butter and pancetta, described by one of our party as one of the most delicious starters he had ever eaten. I had a small tartare of the local beef which was sublime, and only wished a larger portion of it had been available as a main.Plates of local beef and rabbit were eaten clean as we eased into some decent cabernet sauvignon, which was now coming through from the shelves at a most pleasing rate. What for me was the highlight was the local cheese board we all had with a selection of Lombardy cheeses all matched on a plate with appropriate sauces. Our waiter, helpfully explained what they all were plus the sauces, known as marmellate or jams in Italy, but I forget now other than that they were universally delicious.Fire in a complimentary grappa with our coffee and we were eight happy chaps. Our group had been a test for the establishment but it had come through with flying colours.

Restaurant, hotel, bistro and meeting room in the heart of Treviglio, a few kilometers from Bergamo and Milan. The restaurant has two sides to meet different needs: the "Ristorante San Martino" and the "Smartino". Restaurant San Martino (*) The balance be
I have selected this restaurant to celebrate the 65th anniversary of my wife with a couple of friends. We wanted to eat seafood at an above the average level, as the ladies are particularly fond of raw fish, oysters and the like.We were not disappointed as all what we were served was really super.Only just one minor remark relates to the waiting time for the main course which was unexpectedly too long, while for the rest of the dinner, all was perfect. That evening they were also promoting a french wine "Sancerre" which did match our food very well.I was just forgetting desserts .... extraordinary and nice looking too.Price is of course relating to the quality of the food and to the restaurant rating (1michelin star) but after all i did find it reasonable for what we had.I will visit again when a next opportunity shall arise.

Sono stato in questo locale per un pranzo di lavoro. Piatti molto buoni con ingredienti di prima qualità e ricercati, dolci ottimi a prezzo abbordabile. Unica pecca l'attesa delle pietanze troppo lunga da migliorare

Staying for a week at the Miramonti Resort in close-by Rota D'Imagna, we wanted a change of scene for dinner, and our hotel owner recommended this place and booked us in. It wasn't a great evening weatherwise, so although the restaurant has a nice outside terrace, we decided to eat inside. It was also midweek, and it turned out we were the only diners that night, which was a shame. However, we could not have been better welcomed nor looked after by lovely Monica, the chef's wife - and don't worry about her English, she was great. The restaurant is beautifully homely inside, it's like being in someone's living room, with plenty of things to catch your eye, although there were also plenty of tables in a larger room at the rear. I'd love to have been there on a busy summer evening... We chose the tasting menu, I think this might have been 30 or 35 euros each, and the food was all delightful, and we weren't made to feel rushed at all. My partner asked for a different 1st course, as there was something on the al a carte menu he particularly wanted, and that was changed with no difficulty whatsoever. Good wine selection also, and we were offered a complimentary brandy to finish. The icing on the cake for us was that, as we wanted to have a few drinks, our hotel very kindly gave us a lift there, and Monica herself drove us back to the hotel - I'm not sure if this works on more busy evenings or times of year though! Absolutely recommend. A bit of local cooking with good ingredients and a high standard all round. Enjoy!

We popped into Il Coccio before our flight home and we stunned at the quality of the food! Very different to what we have had during our trip around Italy and it was lush home cooking with different spins on some classic dishes! Highly recommend you jump in if you are in Bergamo!!

This restaurant is a little secret on the hills near Bergamo, a secret that is a pleasure to discover. The two dining rooms have huge windows on the wonderful landscape of the area and that's already one reason to pay a visit. The restaurant has a really great staff that treats you like a king and the dining is definitely top quality. To add some more to this quality all of the ingredients are local and authentic local cuisine brought to the highest of standards. I had the tasting menu that was composed of 2 entrees, 1 course of pasta, 1 course of vegetables, 1 course of meat, 1 pre-dessert (amazing) and a choice of desserts. Everything was served with great presentation and you could really tell how much research went into each course. The prices are high but the quality is very high so it truly deserves a visit.Recommended!

The concept of "Lombard tradition and creative genius" is the leitmotiv of Da Vittorio's menus, which are regularly updated and altered to keep up with changes in the market and in the seasons. The care, attention and exploration of culinary themes is kep
Perhaps our expectations were too high, but we left with a feeling of disappointment. The meal and service started at the expected high level but as the restaurant continued to fill, the service level dropped. Maybe we were unlucky and even the best restaurant can have a bad day but the truth is that having acquired 3 stars does oblige an establishment to maintain the level.

Porta Osio takes the name from a door in the old wall surrounding the city and conserve some walls embedded in the building. Forty seats to be cuddled in tranquillity. The restaurant has been standing out for the first -class choice of cold cuts and chees
Was invited by a business contact. But had to pay the bill. It was supposed to be a business lunch. The food was exquisite, the wine superb, the ambience beautiful, but the portions!!!!!! my god Lilliputian! 5 pieces of pasta as a starter and 2 mouthful as a main course. The apple strudel was a thin slice. The wine was superb as worth the price but as soon as I got home I had to eat as I was hungry. Thank you but not for me.
