Typical Tuscan cuisine in an environment that combines elegance and simplicity. Feel at home away from home.
People very friendlyLocation nice and cleanTable well dressedSpeciality of the house is meat.1 first, 1 second, 2 side dishes, 2 glasses of wine, 1 coffe, 1 dessert. The bread is nothing special. Very good value for money.I recommend this place.

Went here for drinks in the evening, breakfast in the morning and coffee in the afternoon. Very nice place with a different, beautiful, look to it inside. Staff is great, and the people going here are very friendly. Look forward to come back!

Four of us ate last Thursday on the first evening of our weekend break.I'd booked this place because it appeared to be virtually next door to where we were staying, although it turned out to be a couple of kilometers away. No matter.I didn't expect anything lavish, as the reviews on TA are quite mixed. However, we were very impressed.Upon arrival, there seemed to be some sort of reception gathering going on in the front garden. The garden itself is decorated with a variety of statues of animals, some cut in half ? Certainly an unusual and nice place to hold a reception in good weather. We were a bit nervous and wondered if they had our reservation, as there were already so many people there. Then we were welcomed so warmly by the proprietors, that we thought they had mistaken us for someone else ! But no, they knew who we were, seemed delighted to see us, and we were quickly shown to our table. We were seated in the 'basement', which was actually beside the wine storage containers. Some still seemed to be in use. Very authentic. There are no menus. The first course is a buffet of mixed platters of all sorts of local produce. It certainly looked impressive, and was very tasty. We were advised to tuck in before the reception party came in. I assumed that this was a special spread for the evening, but apparently not. The same is served every evening.Next we had a pasta course which was also very nice.I could not manage another course, but our men certainly tucked in and enjoyed theirs. The service was a bit distracted by the reception going on 'upstairs', but we didn't have to wait long and we were not disturbed by these other diners. We had some pleasant local wines, and the meal cost around £50 a head overall. We thought a reasonable price for what we had.A great start to our holiday !

Had a delicious pasta meal here on Sunday 24th April 2016. The service was excellent, the waiters were almost running around the whole restaurant to give great service to all it's customers. It's a very busy restaurant, so I'd recommend booking a table in advance. I will definitely come back to Ci Ritorno next time I'm in Pontedera and can truly recommend this place to anyone considering eating out here.

Fabulous authentic Italian food can be enjoyed either in the lively cafe outside, or in the quieter restaurant inside. The staff are very warm and welcoming, and it was very reasonably priced. Amazing desserts.

I first had the pleasure of dining at La Polveriera in the mid 90s and have remembered it ever since. Then I was the guest of a local theatre artist, treated to the chef's favorite wines and seafood creations, including an exceptional pasta with frutti di mare. More recently, I ate here twice during a business trip to Pontedera, since the experience was so delightful my colleague and I were eager to return. The interior is comfortable and attractively decorated, with brick walls and warm colors, but in warm months nothing compares to the courtyard seating where you can enjoy an exquisite meal under a starry sky. The 2 Euro cover charge includes a glass of the fine house prosecco along with a selection of tasty breads and focaccia. Seafood dishes are the highlight here, including an amazing main dish of cod with crispy pancetta in a Grand Marnier sauce and fillet of turbot all'isolana. Don't miss the chocolate flan, a perfect ending to a delightful meal.

Italian Restaurant with big private garden.
There can't be another first impression! And this first impression was great! Service on the highest level! Good choice of food and wine. Excellent in all ways. I was invited to try their famous tartar with 7 sauses. It was more than worth to have it. And steak Fiorentina, just delicious!!! No comments about wine! it's just superb!

Ate here on our first night in Pontedera, our Italian isn't much good, but the staff very kindly read us the menu. The food was lovely, we all had three courses, but the duck was beautiful as was the carbonara. This is more of a wine restaurant rather than beer, however the waiter went out of his way to buy beer from a shop for my husband which we thought was a nice touch. A lovely hidden gem which I would highly recommend. Hi!Thank you so much for this awesome review. We're so glad you enjoy the food and restaurant.Hope you might be able to visit us again as soon as possible.Greetings from the Fammilume Staff

Visited while staying locally in November. This restaurant is located at the edge of the village and is fairly easy to get to on foot if staying locally. The restaurant is welcoming and well laid out, the staff where very helpful when explaining the menu which is in italian.Enjoyed a pleasant small soup before the starter we both had the pate which was excellent. For mains we had the barbecued chicken which was lovely and moist however the skin although very crispy was very heavily laden with salt. Dessert was really nice would recommend the cheesecake Very reasonably priced and would definately visit again.
