Because we value good service, and we believe in working with quality, we only open by reservation in advance. We are just two people, in this typically family restaurant, and we try to provide a fantastic experience to who chooses our restaurant to eat.

As a couple of others have noted this is odd this is at number 1, we arrived 11.50 and told they werent serving food, when we asked when they could they said 12pm so we insisted we sit and wait for kitchen to open. other customers turned up after us and their order was taken before ours, there was no local bread just as another review says. and the menu only had 4 options. food was very average im afraid. dont go here expecting an amazing dining experience.

Sitting in our light restaurant, with one of the most fascinating views over the Atlantic Ocean, the Breakfast Buffet, as well as the 'a la carte' lunch and dinner, allows our guest to contemplate both the sea and the cliffs along the north coast. Our Res
fantastic dinner with fabulous view of the water. Menu selection is varied from seafood to pasta, all prepared fresh and presented wonderfully. Staff and chef very friendly and knowledgeable. Grilled shrimp, spinach tortellini and mushroom risotto all excellent. Will eat again here this week!

A roadtrip along the coast makes you hungry so we stopped here for a quick lunch. The food seems simple, but tastes great and everything is homemade. We had the toasties on the local garlic bread and some orange juice. Nice view too from their roof terrrace.

Traditional Portuguese and Madeiran Food. Closed on Thursday. Kitchen Schedule from 12:00 to 16hoo / 18h00 to 22h00. Closes on Sunday and Holidays at 18h00.
Prazeres Rurais always have food that feels like it was home-cooked. There is a slight drop in some ingredients quality (some meats in the cozido), but overall still good. The service is friendly and good price/ quality.Ecological remark: doesn't make sense to only have plastic small bottles of water. In a restaurant there is no reason to not use glass bottles.

Restaurant was completely empty and it took us 15 minutes to get served at which point or entree options are limited because they waited so long to serve us and the kitchen was closing. Also, they have a "special" tourist menu that doubles the price of all entrees - isn't that cute!? Not a fan of that practice, won't be back. We are tourists but we're quiet and like local places; these people weren't as friendly as you'd normally encounter in Madeira.

Excellence is just one word to describe this lovely cosy family traditional restaurant literally out on the woods! The service was well considerate especially once they knew I was a non speaker of thier native language.I wanted traditional food I got traditional food Cabbage soup with garlic butter and breadFried CalamariAnd some Bacalhau (Portuguese pronunciation: [bÉkÉËÊaw]) is the Portuguese word for cod andâin a culinary contextâdried and salted cod. Fresh (unsalted) cod is referred to as bacalhau fresco (fresh cod).Side dishes of potatoes , salad, rice and so much more including a family cake for dessert - walnut and honey cake with banana and cream on side. - delishService was amazing and what a fantastic way of ending a wonderful adventure Obrigada!

We took fish knowing safe for good tasting food but were painfully wrong & on this occasion really disappointed.Food was not tasty seemed to be frozen food cooked with chips that was flaking away as you ate.The vegetables had not even been fresh which is rare for Madeira. Maybe we were unlucky timing wise but normally we compliment rather that than criticise. But on this occasion we had to leave lot of food on the plate & paid the bill & left.Hygiene level at the property did not seem to be very good either with no hand cleaning liquids prior to a meal. It's like a remote place & did not get enough tourists perhaps but we were hungry & stopped. Chef needs probably more training/quality, if not quality of products offered in menu needs reviewing.Food was not cheap & not certainly value for money so avoid.

We went experimenting with the feedback being so high,we arrived the employee was friendly although only speak portuguese. We ordered "minced meat" and limpets.whe waited for a long time 45 m ok whe wre not in a rush but then insted of meat he brought octopus i found it funny but i don't like octopus! I went to talk to the cook because she speaks fluent English and when I got to what they call the kitchen I was terrified it was such a tiny space where meat was store whit fish and juice and fruits it must have been about 45 degrees where the cook's sweat fell straight into the food.I just left the place feeling sick.

We found this restaurant whilst taking a drive around the east coast. Some of the locals had recommended it aswell as seeing good reviews on TripAdvisor. We asked to be seated outside as it was coming near sunset time. Staff were very friendly and helped me choose a beautiful rose wine called Atlantis. We had garlic bread to start and the steak for our main. The sirloin steak was good and loved the veg. The chips were like homemade chips we have ar home in Ireland:) The waiter always made sure my wine glass was topped up. To top it all off we watched the sunset. It was amazing. If we are ever back in Maderia we would definitely come back.
