This was our last dinner experience in our recent 3 week travel in Italy. Overall, we would say that overall was our best experience in Orvieto, where we spent one week. We ordered entirelly from the out-of-menu specials which were writeen in a small cardboard placed in every table. Both me and my wife enjoyed a lot: the quality of ingredients, the perfect combinations, texture, sophistication and yet simplicity... The quality-price rapport was excellent. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and not touristic at all (good mix of tourists and italians enjoying their Sunday dinner..).

Excellent dining experience with fabulous food (I wrote a longer review just now but it has disappeared - hope this doesnât!). Delicious food in a really elegant setting. So much more than a âTrattoriaâ ... wonderful âroasted tomato pudding with whipped cheeseâ, and seafood with broken pasta ..fabulous flavour. So good I went back on second night of my 2night stay in Orvieto aswell.

Historic cuisine restaurant providing traditional Orvieto dishes since the Renaissance time. Located in the heart of Orvieto.
To reserve a table we had to prepay a fee. Of course this was not makeable online. So we took a one hour trip to Orvieto to reserve the table on spot some days before to secure a nice evening. Arriving today they were totally overbooked they offered us a table next to the kitchen door. There was no space to sit without boxing the neighbors or get hit by the waiter all the time. So we took the prepayment back and rather eat nothing on new years eve. Wish us luck to find a opportunity somewhere else. The food can be terrific, I don't even want to find out in future. We give one star because there is not the opportunity to give zero. They did not even care or appologize.

Helpful and friendly waiter who spoke decent English. We ate: Insalata Caprese, pasta with Cinghiale (wild boar) sauce, pasta with Truffle shavings. All of them were amazing: simple, string, tasty, and well-priced.

Very nice people here - service was great and they didn't mind that we ordered a relatively "light" snack of beverages and cheese tray; even brought extra bread. Right across from the cathedral. From there it was an easy walk to stroll some of the other streets.

We took notice of other trip advisors' feedback and enjoyed our evening at Il Malandrino Bistrot Our waiter was very helpful indeed with wine suggestions ($$$) however we enjoyed the excellent choice. We loved the complimentary offerings- 3 in fact as well as a final liquer. The food was great and service excellent

We were staying in a nearby agriturismo and the owners recommended this restaurant to us. We had a lovely meal! The restaurant serves authentic local cuisine and everything we ordered was delicious - my kids are still talking about the wild boar meatballs (they decided to go for a second portion instead of dessert) and the pasta with ragu! We also tried the pasta made with red wine and it was really good. The service was excellent!Highly recommended and I hope we will have a chance to eat there again.

This was an absolutely perfect dining experience in Orvieto. The waitstaff were engaging, funny, and very attentive and the food expertly prepared. Asparagus soup with bacon and peanuts, lemon risotto with curry, grilled skewers of rabbit, rare beef tenderloin with pistachio sauce, and puff pastry with chantilly cream were some of the exquisite dishes on the menu. Dining under the stars made the evening special.

Restaurant with typical Umbrian cuisine. Use of local products that represent the gastronomic excellences of the territory. The freshness, simplicity, authenticity and quality are our strengths.
Had a very pleasant quiet dinner. Restaurant is in lower town near train station so less busy than touristic places above in the old town. Enjoyed the Umbrian specialty of thick pasta with truffles and sausage with house wine. Thanks from all the Griilo staff!

We came with a group of 35 highschool boys and made a reservation a few days in advance. Paying 15 euro per person, we had bruscetta, pasta (seconds if you wanted it), a meat with potatoes, and a delicious homemade desert. The guys were stuffed! They put us in the "grotto" or underground cavern, which dates back to the Etruscan period. We had that place to ourselves and it was a really cool atmostphere and quiet the experience.Gracias padre...Les deseo de todo corazon una linda estadiaVioleta
