I had a nice beef skewer and the sauce was also very tasty. But combined the flavor of the sauce was overpowered by the beef. My partner ordered the pasta with scampi which was amazing. One tip for the staff: they didn't have the brownie for the 'trio of chocolate' dessert anymore (which was our main reason for ordering it). Instead of asking if we wanted a different dessert they simply served it with a different cake and said "oh, yeah well, we didn't have everything anymore." In my opinion this should have been handled differently. Instead of 4 they get 3 stars.

Restaurant Papaz is a Mediterranean restaurant specialized in working with only fresh and homemade ingredients. Chef-Patron Paul van der Heijden combines the local products with herbs and spices from the Middle East-Persia, the region where his partner an
Atmosphere was severely lacking here - on a Saturday night all the tables inside were completely empty and the location (by the station) is not the best. We ordered the 4 course Surprise and the food was basic: eg. falafels were dry and tasted old, a simple tomato /aubergine mix was recycled throughout and the main fish tasted like soil/mud (is it meant to?). The service was friendly, though. When walking passed the kitchen we saw a chef putting food in his mouth which did not inspire confidence for the cleanliness standards. Dear Madam, Thanks for the tips. For the next time if you don't like a dish you can just tell us and we will change it or prepare something which is your taste. Unfortunately we didn't hear any complains and every plate was as clean as when it left the kitchen. We make each dish fresh every day and I can surely say we never have old food in the kitchen. About our chef, the gentleman you saw trying food in the kitchen is a student cook and he needs to taste every dish before going on the plate and serving. That's the teaching process. The awareness of us having an open kitchen is met by our staff. Good weekend, Parinaz Shekarabi, Owner restaurant Papaz

The food is delicious and the atmosphere incredible. Each plate was better then the last and the drinks are so good. The entire experience was spectacular. My friends and I had a great time. The waitress was friendly and fun, all her recommendations were amazing.

We visited this new restaurant for the first time an decided afterwards that this is going to be one of our favourite places to lunch (late diner is not possible as they close at 6.00 pm).The excellent feeling starts with the interior; it looks like an beautiful old barn and there is an open kitchen and local products exposed between the tables. They have separate tables bud also big tables for larger groups (or as a couple you can sit next to other people and you can take the opportunity to know each other). It has an informal setting and the couple who owns the place both work in kitchen/restaurant. Thereâs a big window and from here you can oversee the beautiful pasture (with a big horse) next to the restaurantWe were served in an excellent way; stylish, in time, friendly and enthusiastic about the place and its products. The lunch we had was great; pure and fresh products mainly from the region. We came to talk with our âneighboursâ and they told us that they were eating the best steak since a very long time. The restaurant also has a fine collection of wines. You can also buy local products and other things here. The only disadvantage is that they close at 6.00 pm so you can order until about 5.00 pm (but they have just started so who knows â¦..).All in all a place you must visit when you want to have a perfect experience; this is a place where everything falls into place.

Dé lekkerste tapas bar in Maastricht! Reserveer telefonisch of via de email. Reserveer tijdig want vol = vol!
Mediocre tapas and indifferent service. I've had tapas in Madrid and Barcelona. This place wouldn't survive there for long. The puplo, tortilla, and the croquetas were all quite bland. The wait staff was more interested in talking amongst themselves than waiting on customers. After four different mediocre tapas, we decided to skip dessert and look for someplace else to wrap up our dinner.

The problem is that I probably had too much high expectations. The decour is not "spanish tapas" but more "mexican".... Mexican loud music all night long. Decoration is generalistic, in fact it is the same decoration of the restaurant that was there previously (gourmet burger placed)... Very little changes were made.Gets very loud and very busy really fast and it overwhelms the kitchen. When you go in just pay attention to the plancha station (it is the same type used in a Kebab place) ... Not adequate to serve a restaurant of that size... That is why you end up waiting...Portions are very small and pricey.

My partner and I had a relaxing, fun and delicious dinner at L'appetito: the restaurant is located in a nicely renovated and attractive farm house in a charming little out of the way village just minutes south of Maastricht. The food is terrific with a wide choice of delicious home made pizzas and pastas, the appetizers were also very good with generous portions, and the prices, in our opinion, are reasonable considering that you are eating in a very pretty setting that is a cut-above your average "pizza place". Other nice touches are: easy parking either on site or around the corner in the village parking lot (all no charge), price friendly wines, and our waitress cheerfully packed up our left over pizza (we ordered too much....2 apps and 2 pizzas was simply too much food for the two of us...and we are big eaters) to take home. Everything was easy and pleasant.Note that while the service is very friendly and pleasant, the youngsters are not detail oriented - for example, it took forever to get a soft drink. And, the pizza kitchen does get backed up over the busy dinner hours so don't plan on a quick dinner. We look forward to returning.
