We have eaten in many restaurants all over Greece spanning something like 35 years & had many excellent meals over that period, we have also had meals, shall we say, not so good.Unfortunately the meal we had belonged to the latter, having read trip advisor and seeing this place as no1 we thought that we could potentially have a nice meal, we were wrong. We had the nights special which was stuffed zucchini plus pork souvlaki served with chips together with a green salad and their version of tzaziki, all fairly simple dishes of the type we have had many times down the years, but the zucchini was very watery and with nothing to soak up the juice, such as rice, became literally sat in a puddle, the souvlaki, for heavens sake would not come off the wooden skewer without us chewing them off, leaving us to think that maybe they were bought from a supermarket perhaps and simply warmed up then served as prepared food, something anyone could do & hardly greek cooking or haut cuisine! It's a shame that the highlight of the meal was the chips which were quite tasty.I must add that we found it to be quite strange that for a restaurant situated literally within a few feet of the sea that no seafood of any kind appeared on the menu, odd, that one! All in all, we thought that the 29euros we paid was quite expensive for what was delivered to our table.

âStathisâ is a signature restaurant in the village of Milina with a history behind. The owners are amazing people and Sophia an excellent cook and they have been running it since 1983.Sophia is the master in her kitchen and her dishes are yummy. The cuisine serves mainly traditional Mediterranean dishes and Seafood. I advise that you ask for âmezeâ or a âpikiliaâ if you are coming here for the first time. This is mostly what we do when we come to a restaurant for the first time. In this way we can taste from a variety, (smaller portions of course) and if we like something we either return again or order a whole portion that moment. âSpetsofaiâ is a local dish that you can find it in the whole of Pelion. I found the one here exceptional. The sausages in the dish were juicy and the green papers flavorsome. Sophia was telling me that all Vegetables she uses come from local gardens, and seafood is the catch of the day. Sea shells were alive and were moving the moment I put some lemon on. What a delicacy! Traditional local dishes âmagirefta is the Greek word. Dishes like mousaka, pastitsio, briam, staffed tomatoes and peppers are also served here. Seafood -shells, sardines, anchovy, octopus and squid are the most popular in Greek taverns. You should know that snappers, red mullets, sword fish, and fish of this class do cost a lot both in Greece and in Europe but of course one can do with just as good fish and pay less if he knows what to order.Grilled sardines are popular in tavernas and restaurants and if they are truly fresh, they are a âmust tryâ dish -not to mention how nutrient they are. The ones we had were cooked to perfection. The owners pointed out that they had purchased everything minutes before we got to the restaurant and it was true. We could tell that from the taste, the colour and flavor. Anchovy (gavros) is another popular and cheap fish you can try. The fresh steamed mussels were fantastic, and I had the whole dish to myself that night. Sardines were heavenly âthe best I had for days. The grilled octopus was tender and juicy to perfection. Donât miss Sophiaâs oregano burgers especially if you are vegetarian. Between us there are several alternatives for vegetarians âa combination of unbeatable starters that you can try here.Nicely set right on the waterfront, the tavern has a nice ambience and you can hear the waves and the tide of water splashing on the coast while you enjoy your meal. Prices are ok and it is not considered an expensive restaurant. Be sure to bring along your camera to catch the breathtaking sunset. There was a dinner party, a reunion actually of friends coming from different parts of Europe and they had it here at Stathis taverna. I watched how professional the kitchen staff was and all 30 probably more customers were served shortly after they gave their order. The cuisine met their requests and everybody was satisfied judging from the hugs and smiles. It was obvious that they did have a good time like we did.We will surely return because of the impeccable service, the tasty and delicious dishes and the beautiful village. Thank you Sophia and Stathis for the nice company you kept us that night.

The service in this place (recommended by our landlord!) was SO APPALLING I can't even remember what the food was like! The waiters treat you as though you're lucky to be eating in their establishment (when the village offers at least another 10 far better restaurants). Then they tell you the day's special (1 dish) and immediately ask how many portions you want. When you say you'd rather see the full menu because the dish of the day isn't to your liking (in our case, pork souvlaki, in a restaurant right on the sea!!!), they look at you as if you've asked for the moon, then grudgingly bring you ONE menu for EIGHT people. Ridiculous. Never again.

Passing through Milina we had lunch at this wonderful place close to the sea. The prices were relatively low and we ate a traditional giouvetsaki (veal with small pasta cooked in the pot) and some incredibly delicious shrimps with white dip and lemon. It took a little time to have the food because it was cooked on the spot and the food was very fresh. I`m not a fan of the veal meat, but this one was so amazing! It was literraly melting on your tongue and the red sauce was extraordinary! The portions were big and we needed two reprises of swimming in the wonderful gulf nearby, before we could eat all the food. The genuine white wine of the house was perfect for making the lunch even more wonderful. The young man who was bringing the food was smart and kind and he told us legends about the caves of the pirates nearby. It was realy a great time for the two of us and I hope to return here someday.

Milina is a tiny stop by for boaters in the Volos Bay. Once there you will feel the kindness of the local people. Have a lunch at Estiatoria Elia. Food is simple and delicious. Dina makes everything easygoing, thank you Dina. We asked for water to fill in the tanks of the boat. All at once the owner showed up with a very long hose and immediately helped us with the water issue. Do not hesitate to stop and have a cup of coffee, lunch or dinner. The tranquil sea is at your feet and Volos is far far away...

Very friendly staff. Excellent food. Excellent location. Ate there twice out of 6 days. Good value. I would definitely recommend Martha's. Only 10 mins walk from Leda resort.

If you just need a coffee to wake up, or a snack during the day, even a dring at the day closure, this is the place you have to visit in the area of Southern Pelion. The scenery is amazing and travels you to some other time and place! By the way, it has nothing to do with the neighboring hotel, Leda!

We just love the old style greek tavernas with the owners or waiters literally dragging you into the kitchen for you to chose what you fancy from many prepared dishes of which drosia is a classic example, the taverna is the first one you come to on the right down from the church in the beautiful main square of lafkos. On offer when we called were several different selections including pork in honey sauce, chicken in the oven, local sausage in the oven done with peppers and tomatoes, stuffed tomatoes, courgette pies, giant beans with tomatoes, moussaka, rabbit stew etc and all of which looked so delicious, after much deliberation we chose the pork and the sausage plus a lovely green salad with a difference which included chopped dried fruits and various nuts with a dressing (my wife said she could have had it for main course)! and, of course the lovely hand cut chips. The meals were just so tasty and filling, after the meal we were given a large dish of cantaloupe melon which finished off the meal perfectly, the bill came to the princely sum of 29euros including wine, bread & water, an absolute bargain.Highly recommended.

Went for drinks on a Sunday night. 8 euros for a classic cocktail seems too much to me. Service was average (although we asked we were not offered any finger food choice with our drinks). We could hardly listen to the (good) music due to the noise of children, that had their tablets with sound on. Could be so much better. Disappointed and we'll not be returning.

Argo Restaurand .
We have been visiting the Argo Restaurant in Milina for many years and have never been disappointed. The quality of the food is outstandingly good. There is a wide selection of dishes to cater for every taste. The house salads are varied and delicious, the meat freshly cooked with imagination and flair. Mariana and Dimitris - our hosts - are so warm and friendly offering such a personal welcome. We keep coming back again and again because visiting the Argo Restaurant truly feels like visiting old friends. We cannot praise this hard-working and delightful couple enough. The food is amazing. The hospitality beyond compare. WONDERFUL!
