Things to do in Midrand
BBQ Workshop combines real American soul food with Middle Eastern cuisine. You'll find wood-fired grill options like spatchcock chicken, lamb chops and steak as well as filled pitas.
A nice varied selection of restaurants with a good vibe at most of them. 2 favourites are Hello Tomato and the Mexican option.

An authentic Italian restaurant, where delicious homemade food is served in a romantic country setting and also an idyllic venue to host your special event in unforgettable Italian style Vegan options available
I attended my god child 21st here. The food was exceptional and service by staff was brilliant. The whole venue offering was spectacular and for such a large number of guests the food came on time. Great venue for this kind of party or wedding. There are multiple halls on site with one main bar servicing the halls. Bev Moore

This defies Greek hospitality as the portions are terribly small. To add insult to injury the chips were rubbery and tasted of plastic. To douse the awful taste I requested some crushed chili and garlic on the side only to be told that I would have to pay it for it. Seriously!!!! I complained about the chips and was told that itâs a bad batch from the supplier and that Iâm not the only customer to complain. No compensation was offered. So why then are you feeding your customers sub-standard food? My sons steak was so fatty and inedible. See pic of what he couldânt eat. This was my first visit to this restaurant and certainly my last.

At Ocean Basket Mall Of Africa you'll find friendly people, a home-from-home feeling and great value for your hard-earned bucks.
I was starting to lose faith in Ocean Basket however i really wanted to go out for dinner this week and as it is January the rand is low which meant that Ocean Basket was our only option. To my surprise Gugu, a new waitress took such great care of us that i have to tell the world. We ordered a platter for 2 and a number of hot and cold beverages which she brought promptly. The fish was over cooked but the mussels and rice hit the spot. All in all it ended up being an enjoyable evening. Thanks to Gugu for the service, laughs and sweeties.Hello Larce C,Thank you for this fin-tastic review! We are so glad that you enjoyed your time with us and that Gugu provided you with great service.Come and visit again, soon. The OB Team

The menu is super. Different and varied. The decor is nice. Prices are quite high but that's ok, this is the mall of Africa and this is a good restaurant right? So wrong. That's about the only positives I have to say. Our drinks order had to be followed up on twice. The staff were disorganized and seemingly untrained. Tge cleaner was sweeping the floor and then mopping around the tables. .....it was around 2pm. The seafood tapas were ok. Nothing special although nicely presented. As for the Poke Bowl. What a mistake. Drowned by balsamic vinegar the flavors of sesame and soy were impossible to detect. The roughly chunked bites of seared beef were over cooked and the marinade had turned them into a rather odd colour. The kimchi was simply very sour pickled cabbage which, in addition to the balsamic really made the dish most unpleasant. The manager on duty was more interested in gesticulating to his staff including the sweeping lady who then brought out the mop instead of the broom. The smell of cleaning fluid was pretty grim. His attention to the clientele seemed pretty scant. Plates cleared were stacked on top of each other with food squashed. Cutlery slipping and sliding and no amount of care. When it came to paying we would still be there if I hadn't chased up the cc machine. We wont be back.Hi Thank you for taking the time to advise of your recent visit to Life Grand Cafe Mall of Africa,I am very disappointed to read of your underwhelming experience with us. This is not what we are about and whilst an apology will regrettably not alter the outcome of your experience on this occasion, I do extend t with all sincerity from me and my team. You have my guarantee that we take your comments very seriously and are working hard on improving in every area. Again please accept my humble apology Should you wish to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to contact me via [email protected]

We had a work function - about 40 people I think across two tables - outside in June ! Thatâs just greedy to start with - freezing cold - broken heaters in an impossible to heat anyway environment - donât take a booking if you canât make the environment comfortable. The food arrived in shifts - half of one table , half the next, the poor folk who ordered steak had to wait forever while guests next to them had finished. The manager came out blazing - pointing out that I had ordered late - true - but the rest of my half of the table hadnât - which he did notice - and to his credit actually apologized - but didnât fix the problem. That manager at least stuck around - the first one who we called vanished for the rest of the evening. The waitress was very ill - coughing into her jersey while we were ordering and all over food being brought out. Despite being noticeable sick to many guests - the manager had not noticed - seriously - if they were not going to freeze us sick - sick staff would finish the job. When we got food we - nearly an hour after the shared starters were served - we had to again wait for cutlery. My very average overpriced and cold calamari was not worth the awful cold and terrible serviceGo anywhere else
