Osteria tipica Toscana. Piatti della tradizione e piatti innovativi. Pasta fatta in casa. Specializzati nella carne e varia scelta di pesce. Frittura espressa. Servizio bar, aperitivi e apericena.
Both food and wines were amazing - a must to go to if you are in Massa Marittima. The waiter helped us chose an appropriate local wine which was gorgeous. The whole experience was one to remember and I would certainly go back - again and again!

There is nothing on the outside of this fantastic restaurant, located in a very small village in the countryside, that will prepare you for what awaits you inside, and that is apart from the delicious food. This restaurant was beautifully and stylishly appointed, with brick/tiled floors, white walls, gold and black light fittings, gold armchairs with black upholstery, Romanesque looking gold and black planter stands, large round tables with linen tablecloths and small vases of fresh flowers, and black, white and gold crockery that was specifically designed and made for the restaurant. It was stunning. There appeared to be three separate dining rooms and we were seated in the one in the middle with a great view of the kitchen through a large glass window. The maître d' was Luca, brother to Francesco the Chef, and Luca was ably assisted by Alicia who spoke very good English. We chose the tasting menu (Euro160 per head) which consisted of an amuse bouche, 3 starters, 6 dishes including dessert and a superb selection of petit fours with coffee. There were also 4 different types of house made bread as well as gluten free bread. The tasting menu included a type of soup with cappuccino and onion foam, a terrine of tomatoes with prawn tartare and passion fruits, Chianina tongue with a warm parmigiana cheese sauce and jelly chicken stock, gnocchi made with nettles together with a fois gras pudding and grape juice, pigeon with carrots and chocolate sauce together with a terrine of the pigeon livers with a tartare of pigeon fillet and risotto with mushrooms. The dessert was wild berries with gelato. Every single dish looked and tasted delicious. The petit fours came in a 3 tier cake stand with 2x9 different tasty morsels.Wine list was extensive. we took Luca's suggestion and had a bottle of the restaurant's own cabernet sauvignon which we thought was excellent.Service was impeccable. Luca and Alicia were friendly, attentive and informative. We were lucky enough to be able to thank Francesco before we left for cooking such a superb meal and were given a beautifully coloured container of their own olive oil - a great momento of a wonderful lunch. We will definitely return when next in Tuscany.

Tipica Casa di cucina tosko maremmana Pasta fresca fatta a mano vendita diretta Fiorentina di chianina Gluten free
Very nice place to sit with friends and family. Staff is very friendly and care taking. Young people who run the restaurant. Cook is German speaking and a good one. White house vine you need to try. Meals are traditional but (see above: good cook, young people) there is always something special with them which is away from the "usual". Big like!!

This charming Tuscan Villa was the location for our group dinner during a recent trafalgar tour. Greated by owners Giada and her mother, we were treated to a tour of the public rooms before we were shown to the large dining room. The beauty and detail of the rooms was breathtaking. The 4 course meal was delicioso! The owners and staff were friendly and accommodating. The wine, produce on site, flowed plentifully. It was a special experience. I came home with their cookbook, and while I may be able to duplicate the recipes, I cannot duplicate this special Tuscan dining experience.

Excellent classic dishes from the Maremma Toscana - this is where the locals go to eat regularly, top tagliata, fantastic bistecche Fiorentine cooked as they should be, fresh pastas, great wild boar & other sauces, also options on chalk board - much is sourced locally, yummy home-made deserts, good choice of wines, all at a very fair price! Friendly and helpful service - sit outside and enjoy the vita di piazza, cozy inside with typical Tuscan stone and brick walls.

In winter we are open every day except Wednesday . In the summer season we are open every day
Popped in here for lunch on a rainy Sunday - I had a delicious pizza with porcini mushrooms and my friend had some delicious fresh pasta with lots of truffles. Really good home cooked Italian food and very reasonably priced, worth a visit if you're in the area and looking for lunch Tank ypu

I have been brought here by friends.I was delighted about the place. Ok, it is rustic and it looks more like a 'Grand Tour' osteria than a modern gourmet restaurant. It is located right on a corner of an old road leading to the magnificent Massa Marittima. But the food was just right.Seafood was good, the pizza was ok. They have a broad menu spacing from seafood to meat and pizza. Service was efficient and the dessert at the end was just great. Everything ended up with a little bill. They have a half covered veranda.

During our trip to Tuscany we stopped at Massa Marittima for a wine and salumi tasting at Il Bacchino and we had the greatest experience ever. The owners had an incredible patience and kindness with our "20-ladies-group" being able to assist everyone. Delicious high class products in a wonderful spot. Worth the visit.

Very typical Italian cuisine not really that special. I had chicken and vegetables which were tender and well cooked but could have been seasoned better. My husband had a pasta dish with tomatoes which he did not find particularly interesting yet not bad, he just had better tasting tomato-pasta dishes on our holiday in Italy. Very nice staff and quite fast from ordering to receiving the food. Nice location especially if you can sit outside
