A tavern in Ano Aetos, Karistos, with panoramic view of the Aegean Sea that serves traditional Greek dishes.
The food, which largely comes from Dimitri's garden, is very fresh and tasty and the lamb chops are a must. Unusually for Greece, Dimitri knows exactly how to prepare and serve rare steaks. We also like the home-made tzatsiki and peppers conserved in olive oil.The house wine is also generally superior to that of other tavernas in the area. The ambiance is very pleasant and the terrace where the summer eating area is located is extremely relaxing and has a great view over Karystos and the sea beyond.

One day we went to Karystos/Evia fish village and we asked for fish. The PARALIA restaurant owner offered us the option, of buying the fish from his cousin who owns a fish shop nearby and then to cook it for us. So after two days we went back to the restaurant, we went together with a waiter and we bought two medium sized Sea Breams. We also ordered salad and octopus in charcoal (so to improve our order ? and not just have the stewed fish). Everything was fine up to the moment I asked the bill and saw that I was charged 20⬠for cooking the two fishes. We payed the bill and gave a promise to BARGAIN BEFORE every order now and then !

A stylish restaurant , by the sea , with delicious food, great prices and friendly atmosphere !! Menu in English and in French language !!
We visited the restaurant for the second time (after Easter 2015), along with friends. We ordered a wide variety - from pizza to risotto - but NOTHING compared to the first time we visited the place. All plates were far below average and the staff were totally amateurs. Management, why did you gave up the place?Thank you for visiting our restaurant and we hope you visit us in the future ! We apologize for the embarrassing moment and really do not know your happened but really lets you know that the personnel and the administration remains firmly Stis place. please when you visit a restaurant do not hesitate to call the administration for opiate problems exist ( unambiguous ) .... so we become good and you customers happy !! ... the administration !!

Greek restaurant with traditional Greek cuisine with a "twist", we use only fresh local ingredients and we cook only with care and love for you.The owner is the chef and he loves cooking and me his wife a waitress ,so we are waiting you and hope you enjoy
The chef Melios and his family prepare food that is both familiar Greek food but also an inspired variation on traditional Mediterranean fare. They present beautiful dishes that are tasty and made individually to order. What we enjoy most at Agone is the grilled fishes and delicious and abundant salads that are not simply the ordinary "Greek salads" but something quite special. The prices are reasonable and the view on the harbor very nice. We very much like eating at Agone and recommend it for having a meal that is a cut above the ordinary Greek taverna menu. Melios himself is very personable and friendly, speaks English and has a great sense of humor. You will have a pleasurable and satisfying meal at Agone.

Situated in a narrow street just off the promenade we were warmly welcomed and the main dishes on offer were described to us before we sat down. Lots of variety made it difficult to choose - but choices on both occasions visited were excellent. Efficient, friendly service.

Small partitions, not very tasty and well overpriced. I was in Karystos for a week and enjoyed every single restaurant apart from this one. I never complain or write reviews but I was shocked how bad this restaurant was compare to the ones on the high street, don't believe in any good reviews.
